Has anyone switched from other security systems to ring? What are the pros and cons? I currently use SimpliSafe and ring has much more options.

I had SimpliSafe at my office then I installed Ring at my home and I liked it so much that I switched my office system to Ring too. It's cheaper too.

The only thing missing IMO is to be able to program it turn arm itself and a certain time of day. Or is there a workaround at least?

@natatorium Falcone you can do that through Alexa.

You have to download an app called simple commands to integrate it, but it's pretty simple and it works.

We had Ezviz before, it was horrendous, the cameras were very poor at connecting, you could get 1 to connect but adding others caused the app to crash out, the doorbell viewer was ok although the nightvision was very poor as was the same for the cctv cameras, the alarm and door contacts were the only thing that acutally worked as it should, but overall for the money it was a very poor choice, Ring actually worked out cheaper and far better quality and far easier to manage, Just look at the feedback on Eziviz app on google playstore and you will see that they have mounting issues all through the range. we have chosen Hivkvision cctv system now with 8mp cameras hardwired as i could not afford the risk of signal loss via wifi, the ring alarm has god battery and indepedant cellular phone backup in the event of power outage

Actually coming away from Ring slowly. Going a combination of Hikvision POE cameras and doorbell system, Eufy floodlight cameras, various kit which works well with Smartthings and brings it all together. Eufy floodlight cams have been great. I like that this other kit plays with with both Google home and Alexa

I switched from alarm. com to ring. Love ring alarm thus far. Main difference is monitoring cost $39. 95 vs $10 ($100 p/yr). Service has been the same, etc. only thing I miss is a glass break detector . ring currently doesn’t not offer that. But happy so far!

Same here. big savings . only thing i miss is the Garage Door integration which we had in the Alarm. com app with MyQ

I'm making the switch from my GE/Caddx legacy alarm system (powered by alarm. com) to Ring. Putting in the order for the 2nd gen alarm kit at Amazon. com as we speak. :)

We use to have ADT and the biggest pro was the price difference. In addition to that because of our system was old we would have had to purchase all new everything and no longer be able to use the built into the home system. We also now have the ability to use everything smart on it. Just make sure that if you buy the system that you go to Costco to get it because I believe it's still the cheapest for what you get, then register it on Ring and get the $100 year professional monitoring plan, then finally order all the extras you need through Ring since you will now have a 10% discount.

You're welcome. These are all things I had to look up so hopefully that means you wont have to. Also With that $100 monitoring service it also gives you an extended warranty on all your ring stuff.
