Need some advice.  With a budget of $250 for a higher end universal remote, what would go with?Need some advice. With a budget of $250 for a higher end universal remote, what would go with? Obviously the main purpose being entertainment devices but if it can control lighting as well then that’s a plus. I’ve always used the mid range harmony remotes (sub $150) but I want to step up in this area. Doesn’t have to be Logitech but not against either.

Stick with Harmony. It does what you need. And you can use app or remote. Does lights and works with nearly every device. Even ties into z-wave controllers.

@fotinas yeah I had a feeling I would be sticking to Harmony. I’ve always used them and never really had issues. Simple one press buttons are a big thing for me. Helps me keep my wife on board with “we need to add this” lol!

Can it just be an app on your phone vs physical 'candybar' hand-held? 'cause $250 might be 'higher end' than something but certainly not high end.

@lublin definitely prefer no apps unless an app option is part of the system. For me personally, I wouldn’t care. But my wife has to use this too and she wants a physical remote.

You're throwing money out the window. Broadlink rm pro will do what you need for much less with better compatibility with alexa and Google.

Add node-red into the mix and you can customise everything.
