Hi, i keep checking in here and on the web for any apps that might help me out with my dimmer switches. I’m looking for something that will turn my lights to 100% brightness on the first “click” on. My kids and other people that come in my house hold the switches down just a split second as they turn them off, and granted it’s not an easy thing to just flick the switch to keep it from dimming just a touch. So many of my lights sit about 70% most of the time. So other than WebCore, does anyone know how to accomplish this with Smartthings only or Smartthings and an app? I was using stringify before to help out but now i don’t have anything. thanks in advance !

Do you always want them at 100%?

Well, i’d want to turn them to 100% on the first click after being off for say, more than 5 minutes. I’d want the option to dim - but need them to go to 100% first to establish that “baseline”

@skulduggery4 That’s possible with WebCoRE. If switch is turned on physically then set level to 100% with the condition of being off for five minutes

@lixivium3 - yes, I know WebCore will do it - just looking for something else. It’s hard to say that back in a post without sounding like an a-hole but i’m not. I know webcore is powerful but I’ve tried maintaining it before and I just have too much going on right now to try to stay familiar with it

@skulduggery4 If you join the WebCoRE FB group I’m sure someone will write the piston and share. Other than WebCoRE I don’t think you’ll get what you need

I do have Webcore running - i think i need to update, publish, etc. And get the piston .

I just wish i could do a webex / screenshare with someone. Bouncing back and forth between documentation , directions, kids asking me for things, wife needing tech support. it just gets stressful.

Check out the c by ge,  scroll to near bottom for a graphic which I think is what you are looking for. They have several models and amazon, lowes and BB have them.

Teach your kids how to use the light switch.

@redblooded it’s not that easy - although I’d like to do that and currently working on it, I can’t train everyone that comes in my house.

What if you add a motion sensor to turn on the light when motion is detected. That’s how all of my lights work. You could do that automation without WebCoRE. Use Alexa to dim the light

@lixivium3 i just got my webcore updates applied - i’m going to head over to that user group and see if i can find where someone has already done this. It’s a common question on the internet (how to return lights to 100%).
