I have lutron light switch and at first used the twirling led lights but they wouldn't turn all the way off so had to go with the old school lights that cost lots of electricity and put out lots of heat. Is there a diffrent led I should be using?

Try Philips led bulb, they seem to behave well with dimmers.

I second Phillips LED. They also have a good dimming range.

Needs to be dimmable. Not all cheap led and CFL bulbs are.

All you need is to install one of their modules that go across the load. The switch is drawing a little current through the LED bulb causing the highly efficient bulb to light up. The module is a capacitor and allows enough power to let the switch work and without lighting the bulb. I have found them at either Home Depot or Lowe's but a quick search at both web sites I could not find them. There are about 1/4x3/4x1 1/4 inches and were right with the switched in the store. The wall box was very full so I installed it at the light socket in the ceiling. The other option is to use approved bulbs, that I think have this type of device built in with the design of the bulb.

Just get some good leds like GE or Philips or even the home depot brand eco smart. They work great with lutron caseta

Try the Lutron PD-5NE. Solved my problem with my kitchen LEDs not turning all the way off using the base Caseta switches.
