Anyone using the Zooz switches? Guess it requires a handler to connect with SmartThings? How do these compare with the Jasco/GE and Lutron Caseta, as I have both of these already in my house. Has anyone used the S2 Double Switch ZEN30 to control ceiling fan/light? Thanks

I have Zooz, a couple GE, and formerly had Lutron Caseta. I like my Zooz switches the best. They have a ton of functionality that other switches don't offer (except innovelli. Zooz and Innovelli functionalities are very similar). I'd recommend them over anything else if you have neutral wires in your boxes. If not, I'd buy Innovelli. My primary reason for recommending Zooz over Innovelli is price. Both have great customer service and a great product, but Zooz are cheaper and offer sales frequently, making them significantly cheaper. As for the Zen30 switch, I don't have experience, but it's a simple on/off switch, so if you want to control a ceiling fan with it, you'll still be using another remote or the pull string to change speeds/fan direction.

@normi zooz has said they plan to release a version of the dual switch with fan speed control this year. They wanted to get the basic version out to market but are actively developing a dual switch with speed control. For whatever reason, at present, smart fan controllers are pretty rare. GE makes a switch that will do speed control, Hampton Bay makes a zigbee remote control device, and Bond can integrate most fans, but I think that's about the extent of options if you want to control speed.

@dragonnade8024 do you know if those Zooz switches run locally?

@dragonnade8024 Yes, if you use SmartThings native zwave device handler. I have 4 running locally, based on location of the switch I didn’t need the additional feature you get with Zooz custom device handler.

I'm using several Zen15 switches to monitor power on some high-draw devices. They've been great: reliable and easy. I don't recall doing anything special to install them.

I've used a few, softer feel than a GE/jasco switch. In terms of comparison in operation/functionality GEs are a bit dated on the functionality standpoint. Reliability, can't speak on yet I've had my GEs the longest but that's because they've essentially been around since I started this journey 5 years ago. I've had only two GEs fail on me in that time. I've had my Zooz for less than a year but no issues so far. Overall today and now, GE is no longer my default go to due to price/features as they're solely leaning on track record to justify pricing IMO.

I've got a dozen or so Zooz switches and have not added a DH for them. they just work with one of the native ones perfect. I do know that when speaking to Zooz about the double switch they said it would need a DH to work correctly and it was in the works and should be available soon. (this was before christmas)

I just installed the zen30 switch a couple of days ago with the custom device handler that they provided. So far, it is working well and as advertised.
