Hoping someone could help, I just installed a Sensi Smart thermostat and connected it to ST. unlike my nest i am able to set cooling temps even though there is no AC equipment connected to the thermostat. however I would like to have the thermostat control my window AC units that i have connected to smart plugs in my home. anyone have any solutions? smartapps? automation in the new app? when i tried to set it up in the new app under automatons i am getting a network error message.

There's a smart app called Virtual Thermostat for this that lets you control plugs from a remote thermostat reading.

@literalism I have the same want and haven't found anything like this out there. Let me know if you find anything! I'd like to get a few CT30 Z-wave thermostats and have them control the window AC units I have just by setting the cooling temp on the thermostat.

I have Ecobees, in the new ST app I can set up an automation based on the state of the AC, so if it says "cooling" I could fire off a smart plug attached to a window unit.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong, it's just ST acting up.

I think it's an ST problem, not what you're specifically trying to do. As a test create a new automation to just turn on a light or something and see if that will save correctly.

@literalism that pretty much proves it’s ST then.
