I am completely renovating my future home down to the studs. Currently at a pint we are doing all the electrical from scratch. Goal is to have a fully automated or as close to as possible home when done . Any recommendations and measure I should be taking at this point to help put my self in best position to automate ?

I generally will advise about access to "zones" and then break down what potentially may go there (separate low volt from high volt)

Put a pice of 3 inch PVC from the basement to the attic for future wire pulls.

Put caps on them before inspection. Without caps they are considered a fire chase.

@sore52026 we used Lutron Caseta. And they work very well. I also suggest motion sensor switches for bathrooms and hallways. Lights just magically come on when needed.

I like the conduit suggestion, however, how do you choose where the conduit goes. We will be pretty much gutting a ranch style house sometime in the next year or two and I'm doing my Advanced planning for it. We're actually pretty much gutting it to the exterior walls and rebuilding all of the interior rooms and walls to our liking. I just can't visualize how to decide where to put conduit and where not to.
