I have a 6 series and have it paired using the new app. Always shows off line when the TV is powered off. I have it hooked up using wifi. Kind of useless if control is only available after turning on the TV. Limited integration it's basically a wireless remote.

@subtreasury70 I can only control it after powering on. Haven't tried any automations but probably should add it to my Turn off basement lights routine. Right now its setup in my rogue hub which was created during the migration. Not sure how it got there.

@subtreasury70 yep. Always shows offline and pressing power does nothing.

Yes I quit using ST for my TV for this reason. I have an 8 series and like you said same problems

@best2 I'm going to try and use the tvs lan connection and see if its better.

I had bought the 6 series last month. Wasnt able to connect to Smartthings. Returned it and got the 7 series. Hooked up to Smartthings without a problem. Alexa found the TV, but you can only turn it on/off.

I had a series 6 (2016 model), couldn’t get it to pair. Had tech support help, still wouldn’t pair. Was paired before the disastrous firmware killed it, and shortly after. After migrating to V3 hub it would no longer pair again. When it was paired originally it turned on and off through the app. After the firmware changes, it would only turn off.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I may go with the don't x850 just to be able to use Google or Alexa to control it. really great group here

@hypocorism38 personally in would just opt out of a TV with integration and buy a Harmony hub instead.
