I currently have a Samsung smart things mesh Wi-Fi with the integrated hub. I’ve been considering upgrading to a faster router to take advantage of the gigabit ethernet I have. Can I use one of the smart things mesh hubs as my hub and add a new router so I don’t have to migrate everything to a new independent hub? I know I’d have to re do network names etc

I didn't know st had their own mesh system. Can't help there. But just incase you're unaware of it. zigbee extenders are also a good idea for your system if you're running samsung tech, st buttons etc. Any zigbee plug in device that doesn't run off a battery will do. ST plugs or I'm using Innr. Space then around & if you have any trouble turn st hub off for half hour while the devices try to reconfigure

I'm getting a Netgear mesh extender soon, so I'll be learning more about all that when I get it. Works with any router apparently, but getting it to compliment my Netgear Nighthawk gaming router and increase device limit to 50

I had purchased the ST mesh network as well. I am using it just as a hub currently. I plan on getting the new google mesh network because I was told it can carry my gigabit network throughout my house.

Be aware that WIFI 6E is coming and will speed up the backend connections between nodes on your network much more than any of the existing solutions. So expect upgrades in the future.
