I got a couple of Inovelli switches that I want to associate with RGBW lights using their association tool. My problem is that their two switches I have have been added as secured by Smartthings, but all other switches and outlets I've got are non-secured. They need to match the Inovelli switches as secured or the association tool will not work. Is there a reason Smartthings has non of my devices are secured? My devices are Leviton dimmers and outlets, GE dimmers etc. Can I force something to be secured? How about getting the Inovelli switch to be non-secured instead. so they match.

Do you have a model number? That security level indicates SmartThings doesn't think the device supports S0 or S2 security. So either the device doesn't support it, or something went awry when pairing it to indicate that.

The FGRGBWM-441 doesn't support secure Association commands which might explain it:

Pardon my ignorance but what value are you adding by using association?

I believe this is because it didn't pair as Zwave plus - isn't there a caveat that to use zw+ all your devices have to be zw+? If you have a legacy zwave device, I think other devices (even those that support zw+) only pair using the legacy protocol so that they can repeat through other legacy devices.

@unclothe1851 I heard something similar a year or so ago but I believe it was debunked. I personally do not think that is the case. All my plus gear seems to be using plus features and even act as preferred repeaters for other non plus stuff.

S2 runs over ZW+, but isn't a requirement for it.

If you don't have a V3 hub, this will never be possible. The V2 and V1 hubs don't support S2 security.

My door lock is connected via S2 to my V2 hub.

You're right. It's ZWAVE_S0_LEGACY.
