Question

Anyone have a suggestion for an alternate to SmartThings. They do not appreciate their customers. I have had them awhile and like it very much but had a problem with the adt/SmartThings hub beeping and not resetting. SmartThings tried for 11 months to make it my fault. finally they said, Per warranty we will replace hub, but you send this, that, pictures plus stand on one finger and sing. Seriously I have spent so much time and not getting paid to trouble shoot their problem. I mean they have treated me like I ask for a million dollars. Anyway I took the hub off wall and sent it with the return authorization they sent me. Sent it 2 weeks ago. They say they did not receive and tracking shows nothing . starting to think it is a made up tracking. Yesterday they told me they are going to cancel my return and not honor warranty. Is Samsung that much of a scam or just bad employees? I would not recommend them to anyone as the way they have handles my BAD product they sold me, , , anyone else had this BAD customer service? My smart home now does not function and they send me text and emails like I am the enemy. They need better help.

Home Assistant. Moved a year ago and haven't looked back.

Moved from ADT/SmartThings setup to Hubitat and couldn’t be happier. I have a few things still on my SmartThings setup, but I’m 95% on Hubitat.

Man it’s not that’s serious, ADT stopped supporting this hub way back, I had the same prob I was supposed to get a ADT replacement hub but they sent me a gen 3 hub. Just get you a gen 3 hub for cheap off eBay and keep it moving at least now you will get updates.

Idk if I'd suggest hubitat or home assistant. they're both pretty DIY and you'll be asking questions to a community (like on a forum) and not so much calling up customer service. If you are willing to do the work/research you could make them work for you.

So you sent it and you don’t have a record of the tracking yourself? What carrier did you use? Realistically if they provided the shipment numbers. And you have prove you sent it. It’s all on them.

Keep smart things since they have the best hub at the moment. I would switch the security system to Ring since the monitoring is much cheaper with them only at $10 a month.

I prefer self monitoring. why have them Notified and they must then notify me. Cut about the middle man and send the notification to me. Done that for 8 years now.
