2 hubs: I upgraded my Gen1 hub to a Gen3. About the only thing I use Smartthings for is Home Monitoring System. Is there something useful I can do with my old hub? I see some people on here talking about using 2 hubs.

I wouldn't bother. Id find your nearest e-recycler with a v. 1. They're not updating those anymore and therefore in my opinion could have future compatibility issues and theres potential to be a security risk. Im not looking forward to someday in the future when thdy stop updating v. 2 (no, dont worry nothing has been announced) and i have to migrate mine. I wont run unsupported equipment on my network.

How was the migration process? What was involved?

@yaker9825 at first is was very frustrating. Had to delete all devices from the Gen1 and start over from scratch in the Gen3. We absolutely hate the new app and it’s functions. If I didn’t have so much invested in Smartthings devices I wouldn’t have upgraded. I would have went with another system.

@levi24021 that sounds frustrating. I have a V1 and I am starting to hit some limitations. I had heard or read that it might be possible to simply add a new hub to your account and then somehow easily migrate your devices across and then remove the old hub from the account when the transition was complete. That doesn't sound like that was possible for you.

@levi24021 which system would you have moved to? Habitat or Home Assistant?
