I'm migrating from Wink to ST and it's been foot pretty good except for 5 Ikea bulbs. I got one to connect and I haven't been able to get more. They worked fine on Wink and I deleted them from Wink before trying to connect to ST, but no luck. I've tried resetting them too which is pretty much the same procedure as adding them. Strangely when I linked them to Wink in the first place, I linked them as generic bulbs and they connected as Zigbee bulbs. I try to connect them as Phillips Hue, but it wants a bridge to be involved. Any tips? Update: I finally connected my bulbs. After reading a link @lixivium3 put in a comment, I tried turning the lights on and off 7 times instead of the instructed 6 times. I think one issue was that I had a hard time connecting hot bulbs but when they cooled they connected.

Reset them and scan for new devices. I’d do it one at a time If the bulb isn’t found the add device by brand. Select IKEA > bulb

@lixivium3 I've been doing that with no luck

@duckbill What happens when you flip the switch to the bulb six times leaving it on the sixth time ?

@lixivium3 I get the slightest flicker of a blink but the app continues to search.

@duckbill Try using a lamp close to the hub The blink indicates pairing mode. Don’t start the add a new device until it blinks. Select by brand > IKEA > bulb

@lixivium3 I've been trying them almost touching the hub.

Don't add them via hue unless you are connecting them to a hue bridge. resetting and adding via the Ikea brand should work.

@crabstick4604 I'm probably 2 hours in so far trying to connect as IKEA brand

@duckbill hmmm, that’s not good. You said some worked but these aren’t?

@crabstick4604 right, I connect one, but the others I can't and they been functioning fine on wink for quite awhile.

How many devices already connected and which hub? V2 has a limit on zigbee without extenders, v3 I think was double the v2 limit

@seasonal good point, I hadn't thought about that, but I only have 10 things connected and I've got v3.

@duckbill that’s fine then. Make sure you’re only doing one at a time and they are on top of the smartthings hub. I join mine to hue now but when I first bought them I connected to the Ikea hub to upgrade firmware as the early ones had bugs. This worked for me then. To reset the IKEA bulb If the IKEA bulb is not performing as expected, you may need to reset the device and reconnect it with the SmartThings Hub. To reset the IKEA bulb: Turn the light off and on six (6) times. Repeat the process if the light does not blink. Note: To turn the IKEA bulb on and off, use the wall switch or unscrew it by hand.
