Hello Has anyone else booked a holiday with travel republic and it’s been cancelled due to coronavirus? Did you get a full refund or voucher for another holiday? I’m travelling 5th May and hoping that it gets cancelled as I don’t want to travel yet.

You'll not be going anywhere on the 5th of May, I know a lot of companies are trying to move holidays further back in the year and even next year

I doubt whether you’ll be flying this year.

We’re booked with travel republic. Due to travel in the 19th May. Know we won’t be going but until it’s cancelled there’s not much we can do. Hoping for a refund.

They’ve cancelled mine for 6/4 . but only offered a voucher, I said I want a refund not a voucher , apparently they are contacted the 2 hotels I’ve booked to ask them to refund?! . all by email , they are not taking calls anymore ‍♀️‍♀️. it’s a waiting game! Failing that I’ll have to claim through my insurance ‍♀️‍♀️

@tricia would you be able to claim threw your insurance? I thought if they are offering a voucher for a future date your insurance won’t cover it? We are in a similar situation so would like to know if that would be a option?

@underlayer I would think so? . as they have cancelled the booking not me iykwim . TR emailed me to ask me to cancel , but I said no , as I’m not sure if this voids insurance if I actually cancel ( as it’s my choice) ? . anyway I left it and now they have cancelled the bookings ‍♀️ I also booked on cc , so section 75 should cover it  . tbh they all just pass you from one to another as no one wants to take responsibility for it

If its an ABTA protected voucher and you haven't used it by the 31st July 2020 you can then exchange for a cash refund. It's to give the travel agents time to recoup the money from hotels and suppliers so they can refund the customers. Not ideal I know, but if you do end up with a voucher just know you can get your money back in a few months if you don't want to rebook with them x
