I would book it! I bet prices are low at the minute? If worst happens and you can't go you'll get a refund / be allowed to swap ‍♀️
by (750 points)
@sonority this is what I was thinking worst case it gets cancelled /moved But wonder if they now all have new wording . (For government closures etc)x
by (1.7k points)
@methylene i am booked to go with Tui in Sept and i'm still making my payments etc. Just book with someone like that and you'll be covered in my opinion x
by (1.2k points)
@methylene it’s not the holiday but the insurance. A lot of them are not offering insurance if it’s cancelled due to the Corona virus. They did a piece on holidays last week on tv. Check insurances before booking anything x

I have just booked for October half term. Flights are on offer with EasyJet and I’ve booked the hotel through Expedia with free cancellation so nothing to lose. EasyJet will just let us choose new flights if they cancel x

by (3.4k points)

@bagby ok  Hun thanks x
by (750 points)
@bagby yes that’s why I’m pressuring my self to make the decision today ‍♀️x

I wouldn't bank on overseas holidays this year - foreign travel will I'm imagining be one of the very last things allowed to happen.

Ive seen several posts to say if your holiday is booked after 10th March your holiday insurance will be invalid as everyone knows about covid19

@classy thanks for letting me no this x

Maybe save as if you are paying for a holiday monthly (if that’s how you would pay for your holiday) and book once we’re able to travel again. If you’d normally pay in full, why not save more money and treat yourself to something fancier than normal

I think a lot of people will holiday in their own country this year. God knows every country could do with the money being spend, where better than in your own country

There will be NO foreign travel this year for us. Should not even be something anyone is even thinking about. We are going through a crisis never seen before and people are hoping thier holidays in June/July/ August will be ok. Get a grip for Christ Sake. This crisis has only just started, most of the world is in lockdown of some sort.
by (280 points)
@tomlinson I think people are understandably just trying to have something to look forwards to in these dire times.
by (1.3k points)
Goodness, do you really need to be so rude? Having something to look forward to is about all that's getting us through this.
by (250 points)
@bottom understandable but book for next year

TUI have said they expect all travel to be going again aroung August. I plan on moving my May holiday to November cc

I have a holiday booked with TUI for June, which I’m assuming will be cancelled. I’ve also got flights booked to Rome in November. Keeping my fingers crossed for that one but not booked a room yet, just in case
by (2.5k points)
@precedent730 maybe for Rome go through booking. com - can book a room with pay on arrival and free cancellation. I’ve done that for my holiday to Wales in Sept (moved once already from May) and Lisbon in Nov!
by (530 points)
Thank you
by (2.5k points)
@precedent730 you tend to pay slightly more for pay on arrival and free cancellation but better than paying upfront then losing the money if cancelled and it’s nice knowing accommodation is booked! Don’t worry if you decide on booking last min nearer the time, there’s so much to choose from in Rome! I stayed in a traditional apartment near Piazza Navona a couple of years ago! Loved Rome, it’s a really lovely city!

We have one end of May which we're expecting not to be going but waiting it out for it to be refunded if so. Got one in Sept and another November I'm hopeful will go ahead but we shall see. As for not travelling this year, if airlines and country borders etc think it's safe enough to to travel then I will be as the airlines and countries rely on the flights and tourism to keep going. As with everything right now however its all play it by ear each day. In answer to your Q no insurance won't cover it however if the airline cancels you'll get a refund x

Not only that you book, but you also have to believe and dream about it. Imagine it with joy and everything will be great

@alienable494 well I’m just hoping I get to see my grandparents sooner rather than later ! I hope everything will be great

I cannot think about a holiday in the middle of a World wide pandemic, my only wish is for all my family & friends to be safe & well. anything beyond this is unthinkable at this stage
by (530 points)
@canner2 at last someone with sense
by (750 points)
@canner2 all of those things are obvious to me already without a pandemic! Something to look forward to. Some positive vibes and hope that we will be getting thru this to better times!  x

This has really bought out those who go by "a glass is either half empty or half full" You book the holiday, and don't feel made to feel guilty for having something to look forward to, whether it happens or not. It doesnt mean you don't see the seriousness around you, and aren't abiding by the stay at home rules. It just means you know the meaning of life, and refuse to let this virus take your hopes and dreams. if you do, isn't that succumbing to it in a way too? Book away, lovely xx
by (880 points)
Book it lovely lady you are in a position that if (and it wont happen ) you lose the money it wont really matter so book your holiday and have a light at the end of the tunnel to look forward to. Plus with things being as they are at the moment you have more time to apply to where you want to go and what you want to do and make it perfect if (and I think its unlikely, )it gets cancelled you will get the opportunity of changing it or having a refund (we had one booked) and you've already done all the footwork for moving it forward. So book your holiday it will take your mind off what is happening now which is out of our hands xxxx Go for it xx

I think all air travel should be banned for the foreseeable why are people in such a hurry to get abroad ! This virus still don’t seem to be taken seriously
by (530 points)
What’s the problem @barberabarberry Cygan
by (310 points)
@euchromosome18015 no where has it been stated she isn't taking the virus seriously and I find your flippant comment abhorrent! Members of my family and friends are key workers still out there every day counting the days until it's over, planning holidays in the sunshine with their loved ones and friends and having a virus free social life once more! WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM WITH THAT? WOULD YOU RATHER THEY AND EVERYONE ELSE SEE NO FUTURE FOR THEMSELVES? My problem is doom sayers whinging about people thinking about booking future holidays! Why would people never want to go abroad in the future? Why would we never want to visit another country in the future? That's laughable! Just because we are living under terrible circumstances doesn't mean we should all stop hoping for a normal life again , many many people out there are hanging on by their fingernails to their sanity so have you even considered dreams for the future may be of massive help to them? Such miserable throw away comments as yours are beyond a joke THATS MY PROBLEM! People such as you dragging others low THATS MY PROBLEM! Idiots sucking the hope and soul from others lives as you do. THATS MY PROBLEM! Feel free to fester in your miserable futureless doom and gloom, but you should know. in these uncertain times you should have the decency to be kind and keep your unhelpful comments to yourself!
by (530 points)
@barberabarberry Cygan did I mention her name !? no ! It was directed at everyone thinking of booking holidays right now is madness ! Anyone that got on a plane to go abroad when they knew full well that it was possible we could go in lock down only have themselves to blame for taking that stupid risk and risking getting poorly ! I state facts we are far from Out of the woods ! I have hopes of seeing my family and friends thats hope ! and I’m sure many others have just that goal in mind the only goal to see their family friends loved ones ! Not friggin holidays hopes and goals so early on ! Remember we are only in lock down so the NHS can cope ! I have freedom of speech! I have a opinion! I do not need to do stupid big SHOUTY words like you to feel better or make myself try to look big and clever ! So you can stick your shouty comments right where the sun don’t shine ! Happy holidays

Be careful most insurance companies are not covering anything to do with corona on new bookings!

After them saying it could be 6 months before they see a break from this. I would not even count on schools been back open. I dont think until there is a treatment that stops deaths or vaccinations against it. Nothing will be normal. They are now saying we could have a second wave. No one knows. I've got heat lamp deck chair and a bag of sand. I reckon that is all I will get this year

If everyone thinks that they shouldn't, it will kill the industry off for good and then holidays will become really expensive. I am going to change mine to August/September time. Germany are testing people for immunity, if this gets people back to work there, then the rest of the world will have to wake up and follow suit.
