Has anyone booked with loveholidays? We booked for September but now don't think it's safe to travel, especially since our son will only be 4 when we go. I've went on to the cancellation page in Manage My Booking. It says we need to pay £63 to cancel our holiday, even tho we've already paid £600 off the holiday which was £1000 in total. Meaning we lose all the money plus have to pay more money just to cancel. I've seen so many posts on here about people only losing their deposits & getting some money back. Has anyone managed to get their money back? I'm on the live chat but can't seem to connect to anyone! Any advice appreciated  thanks x

Contact consumer direct. I rang them this morning and got great advice on law. They tell you the phrases to use

@maccabean things like the travel company have breeched your contract as they cant can’t provide holiday on the dates agreed. They’ve breached an express term. You are also to request email confirmation that your refund if you want that is being processed

@giddens thank u x I’m ment to travel on 17 May with love hols they’ve only just cancelled the return flight this morning x

@maccabean wow talk about dragging it out. Past history tells me to know the law. If the company treat you well with this refund they have to think they could have a regular customer x

@giddens they can provide the Holiday it’s in Sept they haven’t cancelled it, it’s @hypoderm that’s decided she doesn’t feel safe going so that won’t work x

We've used them several times, we due to go in July 2k spend to Majorca and have got 500 left to pay. I too checked cancellation details, your flights will be non refundable likely so that's ones hit plus the admin cancel fee. It says on there that if they cancel they will give you a refund credit note which will have a date you can exchange for cash so stick with it if u can know it's difficult

I think with what I've been reading you have to wait for them to cancel. I had one booked with jet 2 and they cancelled so I transferred to another date and they reimbursed me the difference

I’m booked for October with them, I tried to cancel but would be charged too i was just hoping to lose the deposit, now it’s a wait and see game, I’m carrying on paying I just hoping that we can’t go and they cancel so we get credit or refund.

@circumscribe1401 this is the same boat I'm in! I was hoping to just lose the deposit but it looks like I'd lose it all  it's a case of us not wanting to go now, my partner can work from home but I've been on furlough for the past 7/8 weeks and its just another thing to pay  the excitement has been taken out of it!

We don’t want to go either, I feel like they will let us travel tho but it’s the other side I’m worried about, it’s not going to be safe, fun or relaxing especially for the children when us adults are so worried  it’s definitely going to be lost money for us I just don’t want to take the risk, unless the government puts something in place where hol companies have to give a credit note for those who really don’t want to travel. At least we won’t lose everything then.

They gave me this option to try. Just sharing it with you incase you hadn't heard! I still don't know what to do after chatting with them  they weren't for offering a voucher for what I had already paid or anything

@hypoderm unfortunately you can’t just decide you don’t want to go and expect a refund (just like any other time). You’ve entered into a contract and potentially can still travel, we don’t know yet. If they cancel you will be able to get your money back. You may be able to change until next year but Could still have some penalties you would need to check your contract

Absolutely DO NOT CANCEL you will only get a refund or option to change if they cancel. Given situation you will probably be ok to go by then anyway. I have flights and accommodation booked for mid August fingers crossed but if this 14days isolation is still in place we will loose money cos cant get that time off ontop of holiday x

Martin Lewis *copied Martin pointed out that by not paying the balance, you lose your right to a refund. "Then you're the one essentially cancelling the holiday, not the firm, so you'd likely lose the deposit, " Martin wrote.

You need them to cancel it to get a refund

Thanks everyone for your replies. I thought I would just lose the deposit, which I'm happy to do, and which many other companies have done if you cancel. But it looks like I'm losing the whole lot  thanks for the replies  x
