Hi guys.  so after a long hard think.Hi guys. so after a long hard think. we’ve decided not to spend a lot on a AI as we won’t be in the hotel in the day, as we aren’t bringing the kids are intensions are to go out every day to Fethiye Hisaranu etc. we was thinking going B&B but after talking to friends last night they think that we should go for a cheap AI just for the drinks at night. What’s your advice? I don’t know the prices of food and drink in Turkey  Thanks

Cheap AI deffo. Drinks/Cocktails can be expensive in the heart of the tourist areas. You can get good meal deals in the quieter areas though, you just have to look x

@astor thanks, going for 10 nights so think it’s best just for something to fall back on if we want to chill a few days before coming home

We are going to a cheap self catering apartment in Marmaris because it’s so cheap to eat out and have trips x

Undoubtedly all inclusive is good value but the temptation is to hang around the hotel to get your money’s worth. That said it’s probably fine with younger children. If you want to explore more and eat local when there other options are better.

We always go AI in turkey but it’s really cheap to eat and drink in the restaurants/bars over there . maybe half board is better if planning a lot of day trips !

@ethos6303 was thinking AI just to be safe as we are going for 10 nights and everyone’s saying drinks are priced same as here now

@guajardo15094 right ok . that may well be true . whatever you choose . enjoy !

For the diff in price if you break it down in days you might as well go A/I, it’s all there if you want it if not go out for a change

My sister and I went to ole deniz 2 years ago. and had been in 2012 also - prices had jumped up in that time. we went AI. defo worth it as drink on the strip and beachfront as expensive as here. a nice meal and couple of drinks about £50 for two people. so we used to eat in hotel / few drinks then go outside hotel for few drinks. A lovely place tho. Would def go back x

@lundquist £50?  everyone is saying good is cheap? Bloody hell Turkey used to be one of the cheapest holidays!
by (620 points)
@guajardo15094 used to be - and I guess a lot depends on exchange rate. but things like hairdressers - massages - trips etc. book on “the strip” - much cheaper x

@lundquist mean food is cheap ‍♀️

@guajardo15094 . not as cheap as used to be. x

Don't know where you eat for those prices lol. My meals were £5 pp and a pint £3. 50 and the exchange rate has now doubled.

@haga55 well. when I’m on holiday - I sometimes like to eat at nice places - it’s not always about plastic chairs and the cheapest place - the £50 quoted was a nice place along the beach front - and drinks/cocktails were same price as here. in fact sometimes more expensive - down the strip £10 for two cocktails

I always like to eat at nice places paying over inflated prices doesn't make it nice
by (2.5k points)
It is a good exchange rate at the moment - you will get good value for money in turkey
by (620 points)
@haga55 maybe we just have differing opinions on what we term as “nice”. there’s lots of comments on here for the lady who asked about it so I guess she can make up her own mind about it

Can recommend a cruise for quality.

Unless you’re happy to drink lager for the whole holiday Turkey isn’t a cheap place to drink. It will depend on how much and what you like, but spirits and cocktails are a similar price to home, so if you drink a lot on holiday I’d go AI.

@sessions0 defo agree with that

Plus in our experience Turkish AI food is really good and we tend to stay in the cheaper places.

@guajardo15094 depends how much you drink. I would never go AI to Turkey as I love the restaurants and only have a couple of drinks a day. Try Self catering buy you booze from supermarket saves a fortune.

Try Green Valley Ovacik lovely cheap clean s/c hotel close to Hisaronu. Short Dolmus ride to O Lu Deniz and Fethiye.

Depends you should check what way all accomadation and restaurants etc in the area are operating under new crisis rules especially about food and service. Many are delivering breakfast to guests rooms buffets etc a thing of the past and common areas no longer accessible to guests

We always get a villa or an Appartment, take drink from duty free , food is cheap enough. That way you have the freedom to eat and do what you want when you want. x
