@perviousoes anyone have any suggestions to help boost metabolism? I work out almost everyday and sticking to plan. Not good results. I've been deep into menopause for about 5 years so metabolism is very sluggish. anything I can take maybe?
Does anyone have any suggestions to help boost metabolism?

I’m in hell. I have lost only 6 pounds in almost two months being super strict. I’ve tried EVERYTHING. My metabolism sucks. I am taking HRT and workout. But I am stuck. So awful.

@made77 I went to a menopause guru and checked everything. Thyroid is fine my estrogen levels are crazy high.

I don’t know what your exercise plan is but when I doubled my workout time to 45 minutes/ 4 times per week I lost 1 lb per week. @perviouso I like walking that long? No but I need to do it to loose weight

I like going to do exercices in the pool. With aqua size you double the calories burned and it is fun. They say it is more effective then running to burn calories and raise metabolism.

Increase protein & water, drink green tea vs coffee & do HIIT vs low-moderate exercise

I’m with you re: working out and menopause. I also don’t drink - so not much to cut from the diet. It’s worth all the effort to be healthier and it takes a lot of work on WW. Our insides are thanking us.

What about eating smaller amounts more often thru the day? Maybe it might help fire up your metabolism? If your body thinks it’s starving it will hold on to the weight. Just a thought. You can do this. Menopause is difficult. Mine took 20 years to get through. Now I’m 64 and need to get rid of 90 pounds. So far I’m losing at about 1. 5pounds per week.

Intermittent fasting will help metabolism! You can still eat your WW program. It is simple and easy. Start slowly getting use to it over a 2 week period. It is crazy how effective it is for helping metabolism, stopping muscle loss and makes you feel wonderful (after you get use to it).

@perviousebbie Simmons, how long do you fast and how many hours is your window open? I've got the book @perviouselay @perviouson't @perviouseny and am considering IF. It's working for my daughter. She's 44. I'm 70.

I fast anywhere between 16-23 hrs. a day. And my eating window is from 8-1 hour a day. I fast at least 16 hours but most days are closer to 18 hours. The longer you do it the better and easier it gets. It was 3 weeks before I saw anything happen. By 5 weeks I felt better than I have in 30 years. Weight loss is an average of 2 lbs a week.

I second this. IF for sure.

Mix it up, eat more points one day and less another. The same with exercise, do more cardio one day or strength or just change the type of exercise. Our bodies adjust to our reglar schedule and stop reacting the way theu did at the start. If I walk three miles a day in an hour after a month or two my body will come to expect that! Same with eating, live on daily points for six days and use some weeklies on day 7 and your body will respond.

Eat only your daily points for several days. on one day eat your points and extras. works for me. And stay away from starches.

I feel your pain. I am 10 years into menopause. It's just slow and steady. I have started WW with a different mindset this time. I realize it is a marathon and not a sprint. This is a lifestyle change. Going hard and dropping weight fast is not sustainable. I know it's hard but patience will see you through.

Shake up your routine. @perviouson't do the same routine the same way every day. Even skip a day or two is what I have been told.

Strength training. I'm not talking about trying to bulk up, but work on lean, toned muscles. That can help a lot.
