Just curious: why did everyone choose the plan they did? I’m on blue and to me it’s insane that on other plans allow potatoes or wheat pasta as zero points. No judgement about your choice, just curiosity about other plans.

I choose  because I can eat my weight in chicken so having that as a 0 pt food was dangerous for me. Same with rice, which is why Purple wouldn't work for me either.
by (2.2k points)
@longerich yes green is for me. So far I have seen a loss every week where as blue it was lose gain lose gain.
by (8.3k points)
@canuck that was me too on blue. I did have a gain the first week of January, but that was all me, not the plan.
by (2.2k points)
@longerich me too. I tend too. I would think I got so so points left I will just have the ice cream. I did better on the plan before. so I was glad when the green option became available

Didn’t get to choose just answered the survey questions and I got assigned purple

For future reference. if you find purple isn't working for you, you can switch to any other plan in your account settings if you want! :)

Yes, on purple I can eat potatoes, whole grain pasta, and oatmeal for 0 points, but calories still count. And my daily allotment is only 16 points. I'm guessing that most people on the purple plan don't eat a lot of those foods and still lose weight.

I started in Sept 19 on the plan. Then it all changed in January to the three colours. Blue was exactly what I started on and did well on it So why change. It obviously suits me.

I have been on purple for 5 weeks. I have lost 14 lbs. I don't eat pasta or potatoes much, but I can. Seems to be working tho.

I do purple, some people use their extra points to eat what they want one day, for me eating potatoes or rice every now and then, is a treat and still 0 points, just because it’s 0P doesn’t mean I eat them everyday, I try to eat healthy, chicken, salmon, veggies, I use my points for healthy fats ( olive oil, avocado). Purple is working good for me, I don’t want to lose a ton of Weight fast, it always comes back and I don’t personally like a diet that says NO to a food group, moderation is what I’m learning from purple plan and heathy choices.

I do purple, because I like to eat in a balanced way including all food groups, and like to stay away from anything that limits or cuts out healthy food groups. This way, I have healthy, satisfying portions of fruit, veg, beans, legumes, proteins, starchy carbs, fats, no dmonising any food groups, and plenty of choice

When I started Blue was the only plan available. When WW introduced the green and purple plans I decided not to change because I needed the zero points foods. Green doesn’t have enough zero point foods for me and purple has too many zero point foods ( I don’t trust myself). I have studied both the green and purple plan and I know that I can switch any time I choose but I probably won’t since blue works well for me. I also took the survey and it paired me with blue so I figure it’s the best plan for me.

I was doing purple, but I was adding brown rice, whole wheat pasta and potatoes to meals I was already eating. I was eating more not substituting. I went back to green, I can't have too many zeros.

I am on blue because it is the same as when I started over 2 years ago. I was successful, reached goal, and became lifetime member. Why change a good thing ! p. s. I attend my weekly meetings to stay accountable.

I’m on purple, I never really did well on blue and this way I make better choices. I’m not likely to overeat potato or wholemeal pasta but having them zero means I will happily have many meals made up of only whole grains, veg and proteins

I chose green because I eat chicken like candy and green is the only plan where chicken is worth points forcing me to eat it in moderation

They allow it but you don't have to eat it

I chose green. I’ve been on the various plans since 2011. Not to goal yet weight wise but my health has seriously improved. I tend to overeat free foods on blue so green keeps you more accountable for portions. Only zeros are fruit and veggies, like in the old days.

Just keep in mind that the bottom line is that the foods are pretty much all identified in every plan. They just adjust the number of points up or down in relation to which zero foods there are. In other words, it's like having a dollar in coins in your pocket. You can have four quarters, ten dimes, or twenty nickels. In the end, it's still worth the same amount of money, but you decide how you want to break it up to suit your needs.

I’m on purple. It’s what the assessment put me on. But it works for me. I don’t overeat on the 0 point foods. We sometimes stay up late on Saturday nights. Sometimes until 3 or 4 am. I get hungry again. So I know that I can eat those 0 point foods. I never know if it’s going to be a late night or not. So, I can’t plan my points.

I love purple. I don’t eat potatoes, rice or pasta everyday. But it’s nice to have the option if I want it. I also only get 16 points a day. So it holds me very accountable for what I’m eating. Down 40 pounds. Only 10 more to goal.
by (580 points)
@cerated what do you eat for dinner? I am just lost!

Green because there are less zero foods and it holds me more accountable.

I just switched to green because I have to follow a paleo diet. This diet requires more whole fats so I needed more points to balance that out. I was on blue but was running out of points by lunch, so this seems to be working for me.

I chose purple for a couple of reasons. One, I think in order for this to work for me long term, I need to train myself to make healthy choices without always counting points. Purple’s zero point foods are becoming the base of all of my eating choices, and that is easier to continue as a life-long habit than counting points. I also think purple, with the very low number of points, forces you to eat more natural Whole Foods (those are the things that tend to be zero points)

I started on blue, so when the different plans came out I just stayed where I was. The reason I like blue is that I don’t track zero point foods ( right now some people’s heads are exploding). I think having to track everything that goes in my mouth has been the reason I have failed in the past. I suck at it and eventually I would just stop. Now that I only track foods that have points I feel like I can keep on top of it.
by (1.2k points)
@moonlit agree. I felt the other tracking was exhausting

I am almost 6 years post bariatric surgery. Purple works for me because it follows the same guidelines as recommended by the surgeon. I’m 15 pounds heavier than I was at my lowest weight. Portion control is not problematic for me, as I still can only eat very limited amounts; however, making the healthy choices is where I falter. Purple allows me to make healthy choices and substantially limits the amount of points I have to eat sugary foods.

How do I re-evaluate my plan on the WW app? I'm on purple but would like to do a lower carb version for a month or so. In the SW corner of MN. Fruit choices are very limited here right now.

@baffle I’m on green and whole-wheat spaghetti is 4 points for 2 ounces uncooked. FYI

I was very successful on Core years ago which is basically Purple with some tweeks. So I chose purple. I have no problem with overeating ww pasta, potatoes, and brown rice. I can eat a cup or so and be happy! I don’t like tracking so purple is perfect for me!

Took the evaluation, looked at the suggestion (green) and tried it. I think when you try a plan, give it a month to settle into it. I like green. I find it tough, not as many zero points foods which is good. I need tough to get this to work! Less than 3 pounds to go until goal!

I picked green because i need the structure. I did Blue for months and personally found myself overeating "free" foods- which hurt me in the long run. I can hold myself accountable with green and it's helping me grill into my head what real portion sizes are :)

I believe they usually start you out on Blue. I changed to green because I know myself. I need more structure. If I am allowed too many "freebies" I over do it. I like only having 100 as a limit. I am loosing slowly but loosing and that is better than gaining.

They get many fewer points - for me at lifetime on purple I get 16 and 300 zero point foods. Right now it is working. If it changes, I’ll change plans. But with 16 points, I make wise choices all day

The app selected Purple for me when I signed up. I am 5 weeks in and have lost 26lbs. I really only eat sweet potatoes and quinoa out of the zero point grains/starches but I did eat 2 small yellow potatoes this weekend and had a small bowl of whole wheat pasta last night. Purple works for me well because I could live off eggs, chicken, all white ground turkey, beans, etc. I also do workout about 5-6 times a week as well too and almost never go over my daily points or use my weeklies.

I chose blue bcuz it works for me. Maybe once my workouts increase I'll change to purple. The starches will burn off in exercise. But for now I'll stick to blue.

WW chose blue for me. I went with green instead. For me tracking everything and learning proper portions is where I feel I needed to start. I can see me moving to blue at a later time though. Down 23 pounds since 12/27/19.

I'm on blue and do not eat a lot of zero point foods and I don't mind having to count points for potato, rice or pasta. I only have perhaps one of these once a week so I am okay with it. For now, on my 7th week and loving the blue.

When I took the quiz, it placed me in blue. That was fine with me because that was the progam I used a few years ago when I lost 85 lbs so I just stayed with it. I did look at the purple becaue it has poatoes , oats and some pasta as zero points, but I know myself. I think I would overindulge in those zero foods if I changed, so, as long as blue is working for me (14. 5 lbs in six weeks) I'm going to stick with blue. (I think it all really would come out about the same. but zero is just too tempting. )

I'm on green and I like it so far. Zero point foods on green are more fruits and veggies. I'm down 13 lbs in 4 weeks and I'm not starving, so it's manageable for me.

I originally chose green to stay in more control. I recently changed to purple since I don’t eat many processed carbs. I can control potatoes and I can live without pasta & rice. Surprisingly I still have points left at the end of the day & feel satisfied
