A shout out for help - is there anyone out there like me, I am over weight by at least 6 stone, according to guidelines, personally I think I would look ill if I lost 6 stone but I definitely could do with losing 3 - 4 stone, I am 51 and peri menopausal, I exercise regular and enjoy it, and 90% of the time I eat healthy, HOWEVER, this is where I suffer, once a week or more I BINGE eat and I mean eat everything, sunday for example I had 2 homemade burgers in wraps, then had a massive bar of chocolate, at least 4 bags of crisps, then 2 marmite rolls and a whole venetta - I felt sick I was so full BUT couldnt stop myself whilst eating - surely I am NOT normal and need help - dont I ?
A shout out for help - is there anyone out there like me? I am over weight by at least 6 stone, acco

Weight Watchers is easier to use if you like the occasional splurge. Or work it into daily meals. Been doing better with not over indulging since nothing is forbidden. You do need to stay within your points and have extra points to splurge and can save up to 4 on daily meals for special occasions. Goal would be to not feel deprived so craving get out of control

HI Hun, I know all that but the point i am making is I have no control every so often and I eat everything just for the sake of eating, most of the time I am controlled with no issues, just wish I knew what triggers me off

For me, I have to have talks with myself CONTINUOUSLY! It is a hourly battle. Most days I win that battle but occasionally my emotions win . The difference for me now is I can immediately rein it back in and move on.

This was such a foreign word for me. I was like . "Have I been living under a stone to not know what this means? " :-) Appreciate the google search and posting for us. <3

Once a week is great! I did it every night for months and now I'm up 40 lbs! Now tell me I don't need help!

You need to create a new habit for yourself when that binge feeling hits. Leave the house and go visit somebody or go shopping, do something you love to do. The fact that you know it isn't your normal and you feel something triggers you, you just have to make a decision to do something differently. Personally I would talk to somebody.

On WW you set your own goal. If it's above or below WW's range, ask your doctor to help you detrtmine your goal weight and write a note to that effect for you to take to class. I had trouble with binges too-- my diwnfall is sweets. It's something you need yo work on until you get it under control. Omega 3 supplement helps me with the sweet cravings. (I don't like fish unless it's fried, and the 'fatty' fish provide something your system needs. ) Don't know if it would help your burger binges, but search online for a supplement that might help. Or go to GNC or another store that specializes in that kjnd of stuff. Might just be a nutrient deficiency like mine is.

Sometimes it is easier if you have a “buddy” to talk to. Kinda like a sponsor. Hang in there. You got this.

I really have to keep a good supply of low calories foods that I like for when I give in to a binge. For me it's banana Greek yogurt with bananas added; individually wrapped small candies; favorite fruits & veggies with low cal dips like hummus. I'll eat more than I should but damage is limited. Drinking lots of fluids: water, tea, coffee, flavored seltzer, etc. help also.

2 thoughts-if you join WW you will definitely get a better idea of exactly how “well” you are eating. It might even be possible that you are eating too little the rest of the week and WW can help re-balance that. 2-try keeping a food/mood log. Keep track of what you are eating and how you are feeling. I’ve found that to be helpful with determining the trigger to my binges. Bonus-I also would look majorly ill if I was in my “ideal healthy weight” stick to what feels good for you and your body
