Do any of you alter your clothes to fit better during your weight loss journey? I don't want to buy clothes every time I change sizes

Belted a lot of pants, and shrunk what I could. Belts on top of longer shirt helps make it appear smaller.

I had some skirts and dress pants taken in. We had a big clothing swap at my WW meetings back in the day so that was fun.

Goodwill works great for this! Tops $4. 99, pants under $10 and can wait for sale tag days with 50% off! I’d get some new work clothes, because seeing yourself in smaller clothes is very motivating and makes you feel good!

Haha jegs and baggie shirts for now. I have summer "slim" clothes I kept and lots of sundresses that can be taken in. I'll need new for next winter though

I go away for 6 weeks over summer and points NEVER enter my head so I buy larger shorts then my mum will put darts in them so I just keep taking them out as the holiday goes on, I often put 2 stone on during my hols

I had some of my dresses altered. I just have found that dresses work better for me. It’s easier to wear a dress that is a size or two larger than pants.

For dresses or tnics you might want to wear a belt to give them some shape

I haven’t altered but I should look into it. I’ve been spending WAY too much on clothes along the way. Even with clearance racks.

I had lost about 80 pounds about ten years ago and slowly put most of it back on. I gave all my bigger clothes away and had to buy an entire smaller wardrobe. When I gained the weight back I had to buy larger clothes. Now I have clothes in sizes from 2x to medium, so luckily that's not an issue with me. I'm having so much fun fitting back into my smaller clothes. That's what I focus on now instead of the scale. Good luck with your weight loss!

Wore my clothes till I finally got called out by my friends and co-workers telling me I needed to stop wearing them. Haha I knew I was still not at my goal. So, some things I altered, if I really like it and it was easy. But, then went to Community Aide. Found some really cute clothes to get me through. I made a decision that u will not buy anything new till u get to goal. I have slipped a few times, but not often. I also gave the rest of my bigger clothes to a nursing home to recycle.

Yes I have a couple fancy dresses & pants that were gifted to me when I was at my heaviest. You bet I found a great person to alter them for me. She has done it twice now. Due to elderly eyes my sewing days are over. If you are unable or don’t have the inclination shop around by word of mouth for someone in your area. All my other clothes are purchased at thrift stores or super sales at inexpensive stores.

If they are of altering quality, I would consider doing it. For my regular riff raff clothes, it would not be worth the money for me.
