I'm curious to see if this is just me or not but I got some chocolate for valentine's day from a friend and last night I realized I had some chocolate left over. I already had all my pts for the day but legit was obsessing about it all evening long. all I could think about was that chocolate. yes I could have thrown it away but it dawned on me that I do that alot. I just kept thinking about that chocolate. I finally gave in and had 2 pieces of it. am I the only one who does this? and if not. what do you do to stop it?

If you crave something and have it in your house, you should just eat it, track it and move on. If you don't you will eat all kinds of other things trying to satisfy that craving. None of them will work and 9 times out of 10 you end up eating the craved thing anyway plus all the other things you ate.

I think freezing is a good idea. There is nothing wrong with having a piece.

My attitude is a bit different. I say Congratulations! Our tendency is to completely beat ourselves down for having those 2 pieces of chocolate, but honestly, what would you have done in the past? I know I would have EATEN EVERY SINGLE piece of chocolate! I would have eaten until I was sick and no longer able to enjoy the taste or sensations of the chocolate! So please, don't beat yourself up. Give yourself credit for how far you have come! You had the chocolate and you enjoyed it! BRAVO!

I do the same thing. The only way I can deal with it, is to not have it in the house. Otherwise, I would eat it all. Sad but true.

Buy sugar free chocolate pudding and add sugar whip mix it and leave in fridge. It’s like eating 2T of ice cream and it’s nice and fluffy. Or make it with lemon pudding with a 70 calorie fiber one bar. AMAZING! This my best trick I leaned to curve my sweet tooth. Chocalate hummus is good too!

by (1.2k points)
@pangermanism I meant sugar free cool whip or the light one.

Yup. Cut in small pieces and have one daily, if you have tracked well, as a present to you. Don't forget to track this also.

Save your favorites and give away the rest. Have your favorites over a few days. Putting them in the freezer and taking out a couple a day helps.

The best scene I ever saw was in the series opener of This Is Us. Kate took all the junk food out of the house, put it in the bin outside, looked across the street and took the poop bag from the dog walker and spread it on the food in the bin

@dibbrun omg I totally forgot about that part! lol thanks for the laugh
by (12.6k points)
@dibbrun That’s what you’ve got to do if you’re a food addict like so many of us. I wish Kate had kept that junk out of her house. I worry about the actress who plays her—she carries all that weight in her stomach. So unhealthy.

I have teenage boys who live across the street. I just knock on the door and hand that stuff to them. They are HAPPY to get all those treats. They are tall and thin and there are 3 of them!

If I crave it, I obsess about it and that's when the binge happens. So I just eat 'normal' foods in moderation and I'm losing. You did awesome to eat a couple of pieces and kill the craving.

Are you kidding? 99% of us do that. It’s very rare to hear of someone sticking to it all the time.

My last big temptation was pecan tea tassies that my amazing-cook sister-in-law sent home with us after a visit. I finally gave up at the end and finished them off. 3 altogether. I did gain 1lb that week. But the next week I lost 3. 5. So I don’t think this journey is a straight line!

Better two then a whole box. Today’s another day. Take it a day at a time. If you still have some and want to keep it, freeze it for another time.

If you were the only one that did this WW wouldn't exist! If you have a craving have a piece of chocolate. Figure out how many points you are willing to spend and have it. This isn't a diet. It is a way of life. Food we love is part of that life! The points are there to keep us in check. Track your chocolate first and then work the rest of the day around it. Have it otherwise you will eat everything else chasing satisfaction.
