Do you all eat as many zero point foods as you want? I’ve heard mixed things on this so I thought I’d ask on here! My one friend has lost 30lbs (over the course of a year) eating all the zero foods she wants.

I have the same problem with meds and also the same, 25 lbs for the same time frame. only about 10 left til i get there. I am frustrated but still hanging in there. I am on thyroid meds and that is another problem for me. When my thyroid is off I can't lose and other times I do. I am not giving up. I am trying to mix up my eating. Good luck. Wille.

@vega25 I also get frustrated. But i also think it is partly my fault. I haven't given up all my carbs as I need them. But they say don't give anything up but use in moderation. I am trying.

Within moderation yes. I tend to bulk meals with 0 point veggies, and if I'm low or out of points but still feeling hungry I'll go for something like some chicken breast, an apple, and a hard boiled egg for a snack, but having like 20oz of chicken breast, and 10 eggs, and 5 apples a day probably won't get the results you're looking for.

That being said, the 0 point foods (with the exception of sugar free processed stuff) , are usually more filling and nutritious so most people won't over do it, because they will feel full.

I use them but eat my points too. If I know I'm going out for dinner or to a party etc. I use 0 point foods for other meals to save my daily and some weekly points.

You need to be sensible about i as they all have calories. I know if I eat to many 0 point foods my weight loss stalls. Eating 6 ears of corn and a dozen eggs a day isn’t going to do much for weight loss. (Not that I was that extreme).

I feel like that is personal preference. I eat all the zero points I want but I also listen to my body when I'm full. I'm losing around 2. 5 pounds a week. Down 20 in 8 weeks so far.

No, zero point foods are not free, they contain calories, carbs, sugars, etc. moderation in everything. If someone lost X number of pounds in a year eating all the zero points foods they wanted imagine the success if they ate them in correct portion sizes?

Be mindful of portion sizes. eat more fish and poultry, less beef and pork. Vary the zero point foods you eat so you don’t get bored!

Everyone is different. I can not eat a lot fruit which is zero. My body thinks it is candy. There is a lot of sugar. Veggies yes. Protein moderation. Do what works for you.

Zero point foods are zero for one serving. Not, As an all you can eat buffet! Sad one person posted, not here, they ate six bananas a day, and didn’t wonder, if it would be the reason they were slow to lose weight, because they had only eaten zero point foods. Still has calories!

Someone who has more weight to lose can probably get away with eating more zero point foods than someone who has less to lose can. Zero point foods still have calories. I’m at the point in my weight loss journey where I have to cut back on fruits. When I started WW, I could eat 3-4 servings of fruit a day and still lose weight, but now that I’m down to 150, I’ve found that I needed to cut it down to 2 servings a day. One thing I will binge on cause it’s low in calories and are a thermogenic food are berries. Blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, or strawberries.

Zero point foods have calories Need to be clear consumed in moderation! Certain fruits are high in sugar like grapes for instance

I had a bunch of air popped popcorn the other day. I entered it in. All 5 or 6 cups. No points. No change w the amount but still tracked it.

I am pretty sure none of us need to lose weight because we ate too many fruits and veggies. someone said this to me a long time ago and that changed my way of thinking. I know it can probably be done? But I am not over here eating 10 servings of broccoli, you know?

You can't eat all you want of anything. Zero point foods have calories. Practice portion control. 2 fruits a day and 3 servings of vegetables is recommended. I sometimes have more veggies, but don't over do fruit. Same with chicken and fish. You can't eat 2 or 3 chicken breasts or more than a serving of shrimp.

I love purple. i still weigh and measure, because zero point foods are zero for a serving, if you keep eating it will eventually add up, so be careful. veggies is different so i don't not weight or measure them

I started out eating all the zero points food I wanted until I was satisfied. After a few weeks I found I was only eating half or less of what I did at first ( ex: the first week 3 eggs, then 2 or one was enough)

We just talked about this today. Both above replies are correct. Your friend could have lost more weight in 6 months. I have lost almost 17 pounds in two months. You have to use your points to lose and track your food. I am doing better on the tracking because I find that I lose more. Also, find if I do not use my points I do not lose as much.

Some people can eat as much zero foods as they want and lose. Many of us can't. I take a serving and see how i feel. If your friend is happy with what she is doing and losing, then more power to her. We all have to find what works for us.

I eat all the zero foods I like but frankly I don’t like to eat a lot of zero foods. One serving, maybe two is enough for me. I don’t like fruits and vegetables very much. Probably why I’ve had trouble with my weight. Except for eggs. When I use all my points I make a cheese omelet for supper with four eggs. I realized I should not be doing this too many times a week. I kind of have high cholesterol. I do but my good cholesterol is amazingly high so my doc says I’m ok. Anyway, that’s my story. I’ve been lifetime under goal for two years.

Just switched from green to blue. I'm still keeping my portions smaller like I would have for green. NSV is automatically choosing a healthy portion size!
