I began tracking on WW seriously 11/22/19; 12 weeks ago. I’m losing . 66 per week and feeling very sorry for myself. I see many of you losing far more, & I rejoice with and for you! But I wonder; I’m 62, one replaced knee, other one bone on bone; 2 torn tendons in shoulder I’m needing replaced soon. All that to say, I’m not real active. Anyone else similar to me and losing slowly? And. any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

You have to get in the right mindset and keep going, knowing you lose slowly, I do also - about the same as you but have to keep going. As someone said above it will accumulate. Never give up - you got this.

Little losses, all add up. I will be 62 tomorrow. We need to face reality, metabolism does slow with age. Also, if we aren't as active and building muscle, it will be slow. Try to think about feeling better, and incorporate little bouts of activity. Sometimes it is just parking a little further away, or lifting one pound weights during commercials. Each person is unique. Try not to compare or compete with others

5 1/2 weeks. 9-10 lbs down. Not as many as some but I’ll take it.

I'm 77. Both knees replaced & L shoulder. Torn rotor cuff R shoulder. Have always been a slow loser, even when I was younger & more active. Water exercise was recommended by one of my docs. After much searching, I've found a class, which works for me. Also use my Fitbit, so get a total daily activity count.

I’m 74 and pretty active and I’m lucky if I’m down . 4 in a week. I don’t always pick foods perfectly but overall pretty good. I lost 50 lbs 4 years ago and now I’m basically maintaining that. It’s ok. At least I’m not packing it back on

There are alot of us facing same as you. Im 68 always lost alot on ww but my thyroid has been removed , still trying to get meds right. It is frustrating but i think positive by saying at least I'm eating healthy, staying away from unhealthy stuff and waiting for warmer weather to get out more. Its hard but one day at a time stay positive.

I know your pain. It took me 3 years to lose 90 lbs and I was very committed and dedicated to my WW plan. I will say, I did not exercise and was in my late 50’s so both those factors probably came into play. I put a few pounds back on over the past year and am now following the green plan religiously and am averaging a better weight loss & very close to being back at goal. I rarely use my weeklies and am trying to be more active although I still do not have a structured exercise program. someday. hang in there!

I'm disabled. Here's the thing. we may lose " slowly", but I was gaining quickly before I joined and started to take my eating problems in hand. I would gain again if I stopped today. I am enjoying feeling better. I am not in a race. I truly believe I was at the ripping point of dying before I joined. Please don't be discouraged. Stretch as you can, drink your water and eat your basics. Enjoy your fun stuff enough to remain happy. This is all about living better. Don't put yourselves on a clock.

I’m 71, two replaced shoulders, one replaced hip and two knees that need replacing. I exercise gently, chair yoga etc. that said, I have lost 56 pounds in 11 months. Not in a straight decline though. Down 1 up 1, down. 4 up 2, plateau down 3 etc. the general movement however is down. Have patience, this is a journey, a new lifestyle. Don’t compare yourself to others. I never lost a lot at once or fast but I’m lighter than I was a year ago and I will be lighter next year. Keep up the good work. Every once lost is a loss and adds up. This is NOT a diet.

I’m happy with any loss even . 1 because that means I’m doing something right. Don’t feel sorry for yourself, that’s the plan working right there at least it’s no gain.

Yes. I will be 69 next month and it's taken me since June to lose 34 pounds, but I only have 30 more to go to get to my goal. My weight goes up, down, down, up, or stays the same from week to week. But I'm trying on smaller clothes in my closet and they fit. My left knee is also bone on bone and my right knee is going to need replacing soon. My orthopedic surgeon is ready to do surgery, but I want to lose another ten pounds and get to 180 pounds first. Plus I'm limping and I'm in constant pain but there's no quitting or giving up in my game. Where there's a will there's a way. I've been doing this exercise DVD that's designed for older people with limited mobility and I'm in love with it.

And. play the whole tape through. if you stop taking care of yourself, you’re going to feel so much worse and not be able to do the things you want to do!

I feel your pain, sista. I like to think of myself as a point six girl. It is frustrating. and I do feel sorry for myself. and I admit to being jealous of others. but it does add up.

I am 74 and just joined water aquatic to get some excerise I have had two knee replacements and one hip replaced now need both shoulders done (won’t be doing that) thought the excerise would help speed it up plus good stress released (husband has frontal lobe dementia)

@edvard I am 76. Have 2 knee replacements and had back surgery and shoulder rotator cuff surgery and broke my wrist tripping over the dog. I walk at my gym 3 to 5 miles a day plus do the recumbent bike for 6 miles. I started going for therapy for last knee replacement and fell in love with walking. I’m a slow loser but still feel on top of the world. Good luck to you.

I’m 66. I lose ab a pound a week. For the past two weeks there was no change. Then down 1. 5. It’s slow and uneven but it took me a few years to put it on. Focusing on feeling better at just losing 13 lbs but it took me two months

I’m in my 60’s, had my thyroid out in my 30’s. I loose 3-4 pounds a month with a lot of effort. Just think where we will be in a year!

Please don’t compare your journey to others. We are all different in so many ways. Losing . 66 a week is 35lbs in a year. That is amazing! I’m not in your age bracket, but just know that you are doing awesome!

I am 59 and almost 6 weeks on program and have lost a little over 6 pounds. It is coming off slow but I am feeling better in my clothes so I am encouraged. One week I lost nothing . This is with very little exercise due to total hip replacement 10 weeks ago. Stay encouraged!

Turned 75 yesterday - lots of celebrations this week as my husband’s birthday was 4 days before mine - ate out more meals than I can remember! Getting together with our children & grands tomorrow for lunch & then I will be putting a screeching halt to crazy eating & back on program. Just be persistent because that’s what it’s about. not perfection! We all have lives & sometimes it gets in our way but you just do the best you can. Just don’t give up.

It took me 4 years to lose 60 lbs. But I'm at goal. Now if I can lose a couple more lbs so I don't stress about going over, I will be good. Anyone can work out. If all you do is lift a can of green beans 3 times a week.
