Hi all!  Just wanted to get an opinion on something.Hi all! Just wanted to get an opinion on something. Who else is doing intermittent fasting? I am just curious if you are having coffee in the morning with creamer and sugar or if that, in your opinion, defeats the purpose of the fasting?

You are not fasting unless it is clean fasting.

At a time when I was doing strict keto, I read that anything under 50 calories doesn’t break the fast. I always had a cup of coffee with creamer in the morning and it still worked for me.

The way we do it is keep that under 50 calories. Then eat within the 8 hour window and fast for 16. My husband lost 10 pounds doing just this and not watching what he ate at all.

Yes and I have coffee with cream every morning. I just make sure what I am eating is between 10:30 and 6:30 every day. Down 11 pounds since January 6.

Cream and sugar breaks your fast. That just defeats the purpose. Black coffee and unsweetened tea won't break your fast.

I drink black coffee or water. Usually 16:8, sometimes 18:6.
