I work on an assembly line at night so I don’t exercise. I bought a pedometer and wore it to work last night to track my steps. Can I count this as my exercise and log in daily my steps that I do at work?

If you can link it to your WW app it will log it automatically, otherwise you can put it in manually.

@salvadorsalvadore52 it’s just like adding food, go to activity on the top bar next to food, type in the activity in the search bar, put it how many minutes and the points should show up. And you can go back and track the past activity just like the food

@salvadorsalvadore52 you’re welcome! Happy riding!

If you take lots of steps, it will count toward your activity points. Walking is activity and that is part of losing. People have lost weight just walking.

Working is not exercise. It should not be counted as an exercise activity.

That really depends on your work. Me walking through the office to get coffee doesn't count, but my sister runs around a plant breeder carrying heavy pots and bags of potting soil. She really doesn't need additional excercise

I feel you count your steps all day or night! I work average hours and everyone else wears their Apple watches. They keep up with their steps and exercises, so why is this person that works nights any different? Go for it! I can't exercise alot because of health issues, count those steps and it will help you lose weight!

I think it depends on the job. Two examples . I had a job years ago where I went up and down ten steps at least 100 times a shift. I also lifted 40 pound cases of product - at least 100 of them per shift if I only did half the work and my teammate did the other half - which comes out to TWO TONS of lifting in a shift, not including the other things we actively did for 8 hours. SO, I'd say it counts for something. After that, I had a job where I walked several miles a day within the length of the plant - we didn't have pedometers in those days, but no doubt I put in at least four or five miles per day. I'd say that also counts for something. Evert step matters.

I actually think you count those steps under Activity in the app. Load them manually. 3000 steps, 1 point. 15 minutes of moderate running is three points. To say one is “exercise” and one isnt is not correct. All physical activity is moderate form of exercise. It includes exercise and incidental activity integrated into daily activity. All physical activities use calories, even sleeping. So count your steps, my friend and be glad you dont have a desk job. As a matter of fact, one of the ways to get activity into your day is to get up from your seated position and walk for 5 minutes.

You count them as activity. it doesn't matter what type of job.

You can, but WW doesn’t require activity, and it won’t give you more daily points. You would bring doing so towards your benefit, not WW, that said go for it!

Absolutely add as activity. There is a steps option. You can also set your activity point goal. It counts as tracking towards rewards as well
