@capeskin I’ve tried tracking both but I never can Seem to do it for long but I think it’s important to know how many calories you are taking. Points help keep you on track but every once in awhile I count calories just to see. I’ve been in weight watchers for 3 years and lifetime for 2 1/2 I wish I could say it got easier but it’s worth the work imo

@capeskin no I don't do ww anymore. I find fitness pal much better
by (900 points)
@capeskin I prefer to use Fitness pal because everything we eat has a calorie. WW have lots of free foods and I find that I dont have as much willpower, whereas I feel by doing Fitness pal I am more disciplined. Since doing this I have lost weight. I I have been doing ww on and off for 9 years. Sometimes its nice to change.

Yes! Lost 55 lbs! Finally got pregnant and had no symptoms pre pregnancy. I ate mostly plant based whole foods and no gluten. The hard part is choosing not to eat what you want but the foods your condition needs.

Poly cystic ovarian syndrome. And yes! It is a struggle to lose 2 lbs. I diet and exercise. If I have one cheat meal it takes me 2 weeks to take off the cheat. I’ve had my thyroid tested and it’s normal. That PCOS is horrible but don’t give up! I’m 80 down with 35 to go. It took me since aug 11, 2017.

Yes but you have to let go of sugar and carbs.

Low carb meals. first vegetables and than the rest of the meal is my mantra. I am vigilant about my carb intake and WW does not recognize PCOS or any other impediment. I use an old fashioned WW cookbook and I only eat the meals from week 1 and 2. Low carb, low fat, low sodium. The point system and coloring when you first start the plan. I know. But I had to reconcile with never eating ‘normal’ again. Period.

I have had PCOS since I was 12. I lost around 140 lbs in 3 years using my fitness pal to count calories. Some of the time I did WW with my fitness pal. Try to eliminate flour, pasta, breads, sugar, and carbs. I never completely gave up carbs, but I limited them as much as possible. Meals consisted of veggies, fruit, and proteins. I still ate the occasional potato, bread, or sweet. Exercise made a huge difference. My PCOS disappeared, ovulation started for the first time naturally, and I got pregnant for the first time. I lost the baby, but it was a miracle to get pregnant. I gained 20 lbs back and PCOS has returned with some symptoms, but I am also 40.

I have PCOS and started WW in early December. Late December, I had my first period in 3 months. Then another in January. I’m waiting on February. I’ve lost almost 17 lbs so far, with about 80 lbs to go.

I have always had PCOS but found if I stuck to the plan, eating and exercise my weight came off. Maybe not fast but it did go. I’ve lost 40 lbs and kept it off for 2 1/2 years

I have PCOS and although it’s a little slower then I would like (30lbs. Since mid-August) I still find it works. And that includes some vacation, cheat days and the holidays. My exercise is also pretty minimal, so I’m hoping that with a ramp up of that I might see a quicker loss.

I've gained about 25 lbs this year and I'm mortified about it. I've been on weight watchers for a month I'm still adjusting. But I'm having a hard time not giving into cravings when I get them

@locke76852 Scott great! any tips?
by (580 points)
@groundwork197 what are you eating and what are you doing for a calorie deficit?
by (2.1k points)
@locke76852 Scott I’ve been eating oatmeal, fruit, veggies, low carb wraps, chicken, low fat ground beef, beans, laughing cow cheese. if if i want rice i usually only have 1/2 cup and I’ve been staying away from bread and pasta for the most part
by (580 points)
@groundwork197 dairy, carbs and sugar are inflammatory for pcos. How often do you eat and what are you doing movement/exercise wise?
by (2.1k points)
@locke76852 Scott I’m eating low carb and low sugar. can u give me an example of what kind of diet you follow
by (580 points)
@groundwork197 I do low carb, low sugar and moderate dairy. Fruits have a lot of sugars in them. which ones are you eating? I have eggs for breakfast with some berries. a snack I will have a hard boiled egg and some string cheese. Today for lunch I have some ham/salami roll, a hard boiled eggs and some blue berries. I eat actually every 3 hours.

What’s pcos and how do you get it
by (580 points)
@shana polycystic ovarian syndrome. It’s an endocrine disorder that causes weight gain and makes losing weight more challenging. You’re born with it.

I have PCOS and have been able to lose. I’m down 17 lbs in 6 weeks. I found that if I use my points for things like healthy fats as opposed to carbs and sugar it works best. I found high fiber 1 point tortillas if I want to eat a taco or a wrap, and try to only have bread or a tortilla for one meal a day. I curb any sugar cravings with fruit. I also have almost an entire avocado (half for breakfast half for lunch) everyday, which keeps me satisfied.

Yes, but I’m tracking every single bite I take and avoiding excess sugar and keeping low carb. I keep saying to myself “you can move a mountain little by little but not in one day”. It reminds me every little bit helps and eventually will lead to great results.

I lost about 95lbs in a year and a half and then everything stopped. Now even with exercise it is hard to lose and I have 70 to go. Snails pace.

Yup! I have PCOS, Graves disease and Hashimoto's. I started WW the beginning of January, lost 14 pounds that month. This month has sucked! I'm lucky if I lose a few ounces just to gain it back.
