I never went over my points and made sure I did at 12000 steps a day. Bought a digital scale yesterday and was 136 lbs before family funeral catered Olive Garden. I counted all my points. Had half portion of chicken parmigiana and small amount of pasta with large salad and no sweets. What did I do wrong?! I’m on blue should I switch plans? I eat broiled chicken and veggies almost every night

Someone may have already said it but too many comments to read. my weight fluctuates with my menstrual cycle. I always gain 3-5 lbs the week leading up to and then lose that and sometimes more the following week.

@lillalillard21 over 50 so menepause
by (3k points)
@croaky30314 ha! Well then that’s not the issue . Maybe just water retention from the extra sodium in OG food. Don’t feel down about it! I know they say to weight weekly but I weigh daily because I’d freak out if there was a large fluctuation after a week

Im sure its the salt or water weight, Oliva Garden uses alot of salt; keep doing what you are doing and up your water and I bet its gone ASAP, chin Up!

@croaky30314 bummer! Try switching what you eat, truck your body! Sometimes eating all your points! Your body thinks it’s starving so its holding onto it

You stating eating broiled chicken and veggies every night. I had to change things up to see a change on the scale. Hang in there!

Eat foods with points. Broiled chicken and vegetables every night are boring. This is WW not some temporary crappy diet full of deprivation.

Update: I weighed at home this morning and freaked out for nothing. At WW studio now and actually lost . 2 lbs. not much but it’s in the right direction. Not the 4 lb gain that creepy scale at home said

Sodium from Olive Garden, for sure! Don’t let it worry you, Josh stay the course!

Are you eating too many 0 point foods, they have calories and sugar. Shake things up, try new foods, different exercises and don't deprive yourself. You want to be able to do this for life. Use your weeklies and vary your points. Personally I get tired of everything chicken, I eat ham, pasta. Also track and take tracker in to leader and get some ideas from her

If you were at Olive garden and weighed the next day I would say the gain was all the salt in their food. It should fall fairly quickly. Drinks alot of water. I have an issue when we eat out because of the salt. i use so little at home. Don't get discouraged.

Change up what you are eating. Also muscle weighs more than fat. Maybe gaining muscle

You will not lose weight every week. You will have weeks with losses, stability and gains. Even on your most perfect week. This is 1000% normal. Once I learned and accepted this, I never let the scale disappoint me. I weigh, I track, I move forward. I successfully lost 70lbs and have been on maintenance for 15 months now still doing the same thing.

Olive Garden definitely isn’t WW friendly. Next week you’ll see a loss. I wouldn’t switch plans because of the gain. Just keep doing what you’ve done so far and you’ll see results either on the scale or with your clothes.

I agree about the salt intake . I use my wedding ring as a gauge if it’s loose . I’m good on the salt. And. Don’t forget to drink your water.
by (220 points)
@newcomb I do the same with the "Ring" Also. I'm in total agreement with the salt

My weight tends to go up when I eat out and I know it’s the salt because my hands and ankles are swollen. I also changed from blue to green plan. Too many zero point foods - they count, they have calories! Doing well now. You will figure it out.

Salt kills my weekly weigh ins. Sounds like it's a water weight situation.

Vary what you eat so your body doesn't get stuck in a rut - drink more water and switch up your exercise routines. You CAN and WILL lose!

All Restaurant cooked foods are HIGH in Calories and Points! I love their Salads but hear the dressing contains a LOT of calories aka Points! It's only a day - today is new just keep truckin'

Everyone is different but SALT will almost always increase fluid retention.

It’s probably water weight from the Olive Garden. Next weigh in will be better.

I had this same experience for three weeks. I changed to the green plan by recommendation and lot 3 lbs the first week. I was also doing 13-15k steps Per day. I believe I was not getting enough food. I feel better and now on week two. Good luck.
by (1.1k points)
@lachman Stowers what about the green plan do you think works better?
by (310 points)
@croaky30314 more structure. Not all food has the same point value depending on your plan from my experience. But I not am expert. Just learning. For example eggs were zero points before now they count as two. Makes me more accountable. I need structure.
by (1.1k points)
@lachman Stowers sounds like what I need

If you are not eating enough your body will hold on to water and anything it can. Are you drinking enough of water? Dehydration can cause a gain too. You also may be gaining muscle if you are exercising. I’ve lost 17 pounds since January 1 and some weeks I gain some weeks I stall and some weeks I lose. I just keep going and know that the scale will catch up eventually! You got this!

Give it time because eating out causes me to retain water therefore your real weight is not reflected the day or two after eating out.

I didn't read all the comments but this happened to me-- keep on going don't give up-- the scale owes you. As some of said it could be water retention-- this exact thing happened to me and at my last weigh in I lost 3. 8 pounds (I definitely didn't actual loose it all week it was from water weight or something the few weeks before).

Talk to the leader. Maybe it's time to change to a different color. BTW, I don't weigh st home. I found what it said determined my mood for the entire day. Besides your weight fluctuates during the week. The only scale that counts is the WW one.

Could be the food had a lot of salt. Salt causes fluid retention. Give it a bit before you change plans.

Bodies are complex machines and can be fickle with the scale for many normal reasons. It doesn’t mean you did anything wrong. Putting aside the stress of a funeral, there will be weeks of losses, stalls and even gains - all normal. If your current plan is fitting your lifestyle, stick with it - your body will figure it out

Give it a couple weeks. It's an up and down journey. As long as the general trajectory over time is downward, you're good!

Eating out is very hard because most foods are highly seasoned. unless you go to very expensive places that custom make dishes. And we know we can’t afford that ! Most chain restaurants are full of salt and hidden calories !

Maybe you aren't eating enough! Also only eating the same thing every day is not good either because your body gets to use to it. Change it up a bit and pick one day mid week to eat all your points and even some of your weekly! Good luck! Keep us updated!

No you didn’t do anything wrong. Don’t be hard on yourself hun. I know you feel you work hard to lose the weight and you deserve to get it but sometimes it can be something minor to make it go the other way. Unfortunately that’s probably why you are over weight, not because you do anything wrong but you are susceptible to everything you put in your mouth and it’s not fair that some people lose weight easy and others don’t. Don’t change a thing, you are doing really well:))

If you go to meetings show your leader your tracker. If not only make one change "if" you make a change. That way you know what it was. If it was me I would take a good look at the zero point foods.

Just keep going. You will have weeks and sometimes months that the scale doesn’t do much or in fact goes up. Stay the course and you will get there.
