Have you tried melatonin. I take them. It does help but once in awhile I am up all night
by (230 points)
@tympanum yes I’ve tried it, It doesn’t work for me.

I went through periods of that. Terrible I tried the teas. I usually turn off TVs. Computers like 30 min before and take 2 melatonin and read. Took a few weeks to work

@actuality I use Melatonin. Did you start out at 5mg? Take at the same time ( about an hour before bedtime) every night. If it doesn't work then move to 10mg. Of course this should be cleared with your doctor. Also, no caffeine late in the day. Good luck.

Are you eating a lot of protein for dinner? I found that when my dinner was high in protein, I had sleeping problems. Now my highest levels of protein are breakfast and lunch I do better.

@marmawke I’ll try that thanks

I agree with @marmawke, look at what you are having for dinner and if you need an evening snack. Feeling too hungry will interrupt your sleep. I found that if after dinner, if I have the plain Greek yogurt with 1 tbsp peanut butter & stevia, the fat keeps my appetite satisfied. Also, have you started exercising? If so, when are you exercising
by (230 points)
@huntress32 Im not going to bed hungry . do water aerobics, cardio and walks.

No judgments on which foods you eat but if you are earring a lot of fat free foods they have chemicals in them that will do that. For me they give me nightmares. Can’t eat any of the fat free or diet ice creams

@newsom I’m really healthy. Cooking from scratch, eating good fats (olive oil, avocado, walnuts etc) the only low fat is a bit light mayonnaise and low goat cheese occasionally.

I've never slept thru the night. I worked nights for 35 years so I assume that's just the way it's going to be. I'm retired so it really doesn't matter now. I hope you get some relief soon.

Try drinking more water through out the day. Also do you exercise? Sounds like exercise will help you, especially early in the day! I’ve always had sleeping issues and meds just make it worse! Good luck!

I like using a little bit of Lavender oil on my bed and pillow. Keep it cool and I turn on a fan for the white noise but aim it away from me.

Some people stop all eating by 8 pm. I find that eating a piece of low fat string cheese around 10, somehow makes my whole system content and relaxed. (just my personal experience) best of luck. I also sometimes like to take Andrew Lessman's herbal prep, when I've done too much, too late and am wired.
