Question when it comes to picking foods and weight loss. Do you eat whatever you want within your points? Or do you still try to avoid certain foods. I love cheese and always make sure I have enough points, but there are times where I do not NEED it with my meal. should I try and cut back? Or eat what I want within my points? My weight loss is coming to a standstill and I still have about 10-15 lbs to lose. I’m not sure what route to go. Thanks

Honestly everyone does it differently. But i personally just try to stay within my points. This is a lifestyle. As I got told by a leader a long time ago, this is a lifestyle not a diet. Just continue to live life but keep aware of what you are eating. Has been working for me and I've lost over 100lbs .

I try to avoid certain foods. Sometimes I'll skimp on cheese or take it out of the recipe all together if I know it won't make that much of a difference. Other times I'll go full-cheese. Just depends. I also try to cut out other higher fat foods when possible.

So far I’ve noticed I will lose if I eat whatever I want and still within my points I’ll lose. However. I’ve also started to just naturally make better choices. I still have cheat meals throughout the week (chicken and fries) but I’ll get grilled chicken instead of fries. If I’m not ordering out I’ll pretty much make whatever I want at home and still lose.

Cheese is a point killer. use sparingly and don’t eat any food if you don’t “need it” or “want it really really bad. ” Eat what you enjoy, but make sure you are using your points on foods that will keep you satisfied longer.

Someone told me the other day NOT to eat things like grapes because they are full of sugar. I do eat grapes and apples etc. but i also COUNT them in my points. I do not use the as free or zero foods. I use them as my dessert or when I want something sweet. I am vegan so cutting back on carbs (another person's suggestion) also is not an option. And really the zero points foods are mainly things I cannot eat anyway. I hope this doesn't "do me in" diet wise.

I probably wouldn't eat a pound of grapes but I love them. nature's candy and I would say eating a bowl of grapes is better than anything processed! I also love carbs but I'm learning moderation. If you're eating them, enjoying them and loosing I'd say keep on going, it's your journey!

When you don't need it, why are you eating it? Is it a habit or routine you need to change? You don't want to feel deprived but. if nothing changes, then nothing changes. Best wishes as you figure out YOUR balance

@rubyeruch87 i used cheese yesterday on top of chicken with tomato. I used it because I had eaten plain chicken breast and carrots for 3 days already. and wanted to change it up and make like nachos and cheese without the nachos . so I didn’t HAVE TO use the cheese I could’ve had another plain chicken and carrots meal but I thought I’d “ treat” myself with some cheese as all my other foods where 0 points & still stay within them. And I loved it! And would do it more often. So I’m just wondering if I have 1/3 cup cheese ( 5 points on blue ) a couple times a week if that amount of dairy will throw me off.

@folk712 Trust the plan! One idea (and it's still YOUR choice) how about trying 1/4 cup cheese instead of 1/3? Small tweaks.

I do eat pretty much whatever i want within my points for the most part. But with that being said, for the past several years I have tried to avoid processed foods so some foods are off the table . I also know my body is sensitive to dairy and wheat so i avoid them when possible . I do love cheese, so do indulge but try to limit it

I’d try to break the habit of eating it mindlessly.

I still try to avoid certain foods because some foods are still trigger foods and I know what they do to me ‍♀️. If I stay away from those foods it helps me stay on track

I can’t eat a lot of dairy bc of my tummy and I limit carbs bc they also hurt my tummy and weight loss. ‍♀️ I also feel better when I don’t eat all that processed stuff.

I would say eat what you want within your points. I have kept having normal butter, cheese and mayonnaise just measuring and tracking. I think avoiding foods you love creates that feeling of 'being on a diet' or depriving yourself. But it's different for everyone so whatever works for you.

I do avoid my trigger foods, chips, crackers etc. But I splurge and buy Lily's chocolate to curb my sweet control.

I can't eat within my points and lose. I have to avoid bread, pasta and sugar. I only eat bread a couple of times a week and pasta once a week or less. When I was younger I could eat anything within my points.

I am 71 years young and I eat anything including bread , pasta and potatoes but I do measure or weigh the amount and I am losing every week , now true I'm not dropping 4 or 5 lbs a week but am losing 2 to over that some weeks. plus I don't go to a gym just try to walk and move a lot. I have always been active , I have no health issues and on no meds except for allergies. Today is my hubby birthday and he wanted pizza so I ordered it and they were nice big slices 10 points a slice so I made a nice green salad and took the toppings off and put on my salad for a total of 5 points with my 1point dressing so there are ways to enjoy what you like in a more creative way. Plus I eat all my points and weeklies on the weekends.

The only cheese I eat is 1% cottage cheese 2 tablespoons in the morning and I stay away from garbage food that is processed

If you have the points, use them! Whatever will make this a sustainable lifestyle rather than a just-focused-on-losing-weight-quickly-in-the-short-term fix. Tastier food means you're more likely to stick with it! The points are there to be used in the way that best fits each of our tastes and lifestyles ☺️

Cheese is super full of fats. I’m also a cheese lover and when I only eat it occasionally, my stomach loses bloat and I lose about two lbs a week.

Try to offset some of your food choices with movement and activity.

Weightwatchers used to say nothing is forbidden. therefore if you fancy it and you’ve got enough points have some. i find that if i denied myself something (usually chocolate, cake or some other sweet treat) i crave it more and nothing else will suffice. even if i eat yoghurt until it comes out my ears i still need chocolate!

There are some foods i can't even consider eating while I'm trying to lose because i know me well enough to know i would over do it. Donuts are just example.

It’s still about calories in vs calories out in the end game. If you aren’t missing it than don’t eat it.
