Maybe invest in a Fitbit or even a cheap pedometer you can wear on your wrist? It’s a nice way to gauge your current level of activity and then set small goals that are realistic to your lifestyle. Even trying to increase your daily steps by a small measurable goal each day or week makes a difference. It works well for people like me who have difficulty getting to the gym, or even getting off the couch sometimes. I find myself trying to take the stairs more, parking further away from the store entrance, and offering to run errands during the work day that may get me a few extra steps. Small changes can be more sustainable and not end in feeling overwhelmed and discouraged and then giving up.
