Can anyone share why weekly weigh-ins are more effective than daily? I was doing another program before I signed up for WW that required daily weigh-ins. I’m also curious about the weekly points. Are they meant to be used regularly or sparingly? I’ve seen conflicting info. Thanks  I’m loving WW so far. I needed something with more structure that didn’t feel so restrictive. It’s been very eye opening!

Weeklies are for wine! But I never use the fitpoints because I think they way overstate the calories burnt through exercise.

@villanueva Yes! My family and I went for a walk tonight that was an hour long my Fitbit thought I lifted weights and it recorded on my WW as -300 calories automatically and I don’t know how to fix it lol

For me personally my weight fluctuates daily. If I have a heavier (yet still healthy) dinner, I can gain 2-3 pounds overnight.

Daily- your body fluctuates daily, so it will go drastic sometimes which might cause you to freak out and feel like you’re doing something wrong. Weekly points are made to use. That’s why we have them! Sure if you use ALL OF THEM you might not lose as much (or you might ) everyone’s different.

I still weigh daily to see how I’m doing, but only record it once a week.

My meetings leader said you can use all your weeklies and still lose weight. Personally, I use little or no weeklies. I use the weeklies to go out to eat.

I personally weigh in daily as it keeps me in check with myself. As for the weeklies you are going to get a million different responses. In my opinion you need to experiment with what works best for YOU. I personally found for myself that eating half to all of them I had better success in both my losses and in not feeling deprived. Hope this helps.

I’d kill myself if I weighed in daily. way too many fluctuations. My sanity demands weekly.

I weigh myself daily at 3am the same time just to make sure I’m all good. My weight only fluctuates like by 2 ounces difference.

I weigh daily because I retain water and need to see fluctuations, but I only record it weekly.

I weight myself once a week on the morning that I usually went to my meeting. I feel there is too much fluctuation every day.

Thank you all! I’ve struggled with my weight since I had my kids. Learning to “trust the process” is going to be a process itself for me! Lol

Weeklies are there to make the program more livable. You can experiment with them to see what works for you. How often we weigh is dependent on the individual. Our weight fluctuates all day long. It can go up when we do everything right and down when we overeat. Hormones, too much sodium, too many carbs, sore muscles from exercise and many more factors can effect the scale. If the daily fluctuations dont bother a person, then weighing daily may be good. If watching the scale goes up makes you want to give up or emotionally eat, then once a week might be better.

Once a week is a better way to gauge progress. Also, the numbers can keep us from concentrating on life time changes. I desperately needed that. Healthy is my biggest focus, these days. I still have a long way to go.

I am on lifetime and I weigh daily and it helps my accountability. I sometimes use weeklies to allow me to make the program my way of living Keep track of fit points to encourage exercise but never translate to food.

In the late 1990's I joined and my weekly points were 27. I lost 30 pounds in 5 months. I gained the weight back 20 years later and rejoined and my points were 23 daily and 27 weekly. if you divide 27 by 7 days you get 4 points to add to your daily points. I once again have lost 25 pounds and am maintaining now for a year. So I would suggest that you use the points given to you.

I weigh myself once a week, within about 1/2 hr of my regular scheduled time I chose, and with approx the same clothes.

I don't mean to say what anyone is wright or wrong. I weight everyday. I only really care what happens on Tues. If I record a change, it comes on Tues. This is individual & I for sure honor all everyone efforts as support. I envy the fact you know why you weigh & how. I do not lol I am listening & learning.

Daily weight fluctuates a lot (+/-) for many normal reasons. That can cause a lot of anxiety and frustration. I know some think they can make direct connections between food today and scale tomorrow - I never found that to be true. That number is just one data point at a moment in time Weeklies- they are meant to be eaten. They are factored into the equation for us to lose. They make this flexible and livable. How you use them is entirely up to your lifestyle. Many lose best when they eat most/all of them. Some feel the need to limit them. Experiment to see what works best for your unique body

Weeklies are so you don’t get obsessed with numbers and the scale! Weeklies is learning to feel good rather than have numbers control you! Weeklies is for the night you weigh in to be a little less strict with your diet and not feel guilty! Weekly is for your sanity!

Weekly weigh ins are helpful for those of us who get discouraged when natural bodily fluctuations happen. It’s much more fun to celebrate a loss at the end of a weight then fret over a few ounces or even pounds gained over a day because of lots of variables in life. Weeklies are made to be eaten if you want to ‍♀️ work them into your life so that you stay on plan if that makes sense? For example: I know that on Tuesday night we’re having a birthday celebration for my brother so I’ll save some weeklies for that pizza. I went over two points on Saturday because I was more hungry than normal. I think those sorts of scenarios are what weeklies are meant for.

I prefer monthly weigh in. I don't look at the number until the last weigh in of the month. It gives me a better idea of a monthly loss. For me it is less discouraging if I gain weight one week. I will gain one week and have a huge weight loss the next my monthly gives me a better idea of how much I have lost
