So what's the new program like? Are they still pushing the whole zero point chicken/corn/beans/fruit thing?

It depends on the plan you pick. If you get the WW app, you can choose from 3 programs: purple, blue, and green. Purple has the most zero point foods, blue (same as freestyle) has the second most, and green has the least (only fruits and some veggies are zero). I chose to switch to green in hopes that it is more like older programs. While I think the other plans can teach you to eat healthier long term, I was losing motivation because it was going so slow. and I was overeating zero point foods too. Therefore, I wasn’t happy with the newer plans and all of the zero points either. Hoping green will be more successful for me.

I’m on the green! Too much freedom on the others.

The reason the zero points continue to remain a key point of the program is because people who want to eat a lot will tend to select those above the foods with points. The zero point foods usually have better nutritional value, more fiber, are more filling, etc. so then people will choose fewer of the high point value foods. The program is based on science and it makes a lot of sense. You can google the program to get some basic information and join a meeting or online for the full program information and to determine the number of points that you, specifically, should have.

@numskull I also think it really is good for training you how to eat for life, as opposed to just to lose weight.

@viceroy10 I agree, I find it to be their best plan yet, and I’ve done every one since the mid 90’s. they’ve all worked (when I worked them of course).

I still do the same program I lost my weight with in 2000. This new one makes no sense to me. Too many 0 calorie foods. and takes very long to lose weight. and costs more $$. because it takes so long. Not sure I could lose 77 lbs in 50 weeks on this program.

@minda I to as well lost my weight 3 yrs ago! I got comfortable with my new weight & stopped tracking. Rejoined after being off of it for 6 months & got the Green program! The things that I used to eat that were zero points are now points. been on it for a month have not lost one ounce not really sure what’s going on but definitely not happy with the new program.

I don't understand your comment "costs more $$ because it takes so long". Aren't you going to eat food every day of your life anyway? Why not make good choices when choosing which foods you will eat. Fruits and vegetables are pretty inexpensive, even off season. I bought fresh blueberries and strawberries at Aldi today and they were very reasonably priced.

The Green has only 200 freestyle points More restrictive.

@ellerey It costs more because it takes longer to lose weight. paying your dues longer. not the cost of food.

@sedimentation you can change to either the blue or purple program if green is not working for you. They both have more zero point foods.

@withe green has only 100 zero point foods.

@minda I lost 87lbs in 61 weeks on the Blue plan. Not to far off from your stats. I think if track everything it works.

@minda not 0 calories food it's 0points, I lost 50lbs in 8months and have gone on to lose 27 more

@minda it’s not 0 calories. It’s 0 points. Of course you have to use common sense and not overeat the 0 point foods. I lost over 90 pounds in a year. The program works.

Not sure I understand your point of “pushing “ zero point foods?
