I try not to use my weeklies, but was thinking about changing things up. Has anyone went from not eating many weeklies to eating most of them and had success? I feel like it may be counterintuitive, but figured I’d give it a try.

Ok I have no idea how ww works joined a week ago and tracked my food. But what is weeklies?
by (16.2k points)
@chlorosis weeklies are additional points you use after using up your dailies

I honestly find I do better overall, including weight loss, when I use all my weeklies!

I was reading posts from people on lifetime on connects and a few of them said, use your weeklies! So, I do. That being said, I have also found that it’s good to go with my hunger. I don’t think I’d use them if I wasn’t hungry.

I feel like this is key to vary it. No weeklies for a few weeks then weeklies.

I wish ! A WW coach told me they are for slip ups?! Has anyone heard that
by (10k points)
@wedged wow. really? I'd say they shouldn't be a WW coach. I've only heard the best results come from those who use them.
by (3.8k points)
That'd how I use mine. For slip ups or a buffer if I miscounted or got lazy and didn't measure. But I've always heard that its perfectly fine and encouraged to use your weeklys
by (13k points)
@chlorosis Persons yup thought it was weird too , I rarely use. But if you have to. Nice as a cushion . Another coach told me I have to eat all my points too! Really untrained
by (13k points)
@bakke3599 Rodela yes that’s what I thought . really disappointed when I get wrong info from coaches
by (740 points)
@wedged I am also being told to eat all my dailies and I lose so slowly
by (37.2k points)
@wedged actually WW does a-lot of training continually. But people are human and although we are told not to bring our personal views and values into coaching of course some coaches do

They are there to make the plan even more flexible. It means that, if I want, I can have an occasional slice of pizza. Or some other Italian delicacy from a restaurant. Or 1/2 C reduced no sugar added ice cream a couple times a week.

@navel39605 Everybody's different. Experiment a bit to see what works best for YOU!

Experiment with what works best for YOU. I personally found that when I ate half to all my weeklies I had better success in both losses and feeling satisfied. I successfully lost 70lbs.

I would try eating half and eat them far away from weigh-in. Sometimes a big increase in points and carbs will show a gain. Then maybe the week after use them all and see what happens.

I've never had a week where I didn't use my weeklies. I'm curious with how you aren't using weeklies.

I usually save my weeklies for the weekend otherwise I’ve been at a plateau

Think of it this way. WW designed the program to work using weeklies. the program is very successful. the research has been done trust in WW. good luck. many people use the weeklies. some choose not to .

I’ve fallen into a pattern that seems to be working. I eat zero point foods and use daily’s during the week. My weigh in is on Sat morning. On Saturday and Sunday I add on about half, sometimes more, of my weekly points. I think it jumpstarts my metabolism and keeps me satisfied with the program. I just realized this past week that this is the kind of eating pattern I had in college and after as an adult when I had no weight problems. Hmmmmm.
by (4.9k points)
@infix not quite understanding?
by (3.1k points)
@forenoon , she’s using her weekly Points on the weekends, and eating more, and staying to her daily points and zero foods during the week. Some say this boosts and confuses your system and helps

@joel "lints" ?
by (4.9k points)
@joel "points" Yes, Thank you
by (740 points)
@infix sounds like a great plan Does it work do you lose nicely
by (3.7k points)
@nock593 Ive lost 40 pounds in 21 weeks, so averaging a steady 1. 5 to 2 per week.
by (3.7k points)
@forenoon exactly what April said. I stick to my 16 points during the week and on weekends, I use about half to 2/3 of my weekly points split over Sat and Sunday. But, I usually don’t use them for junk. I always check the points of what I’m adding so I don’t go overboard.

@infix wonderful Thanks for the clarification

I use them and it helped me to lose. that's my take on it.

I try to accumulate a lot of activities points that I don’t use so then I don’t feel bad eating the weeklies, that being said I usually save all of mine for a cheat night where I will eat something I’ve been really craving like a chocolate bar or brownies, so I get one good fix a week and that curbs my cravings:) I’ve lost 28 lbs since January 20th:)
by (460 points)
@stevie7 good idea !
by (12.2k points)
@stevie7 have you tried Built Bars? A Peanut Butter Brownie Bar is only 4 points and to me it tastes just like the real thing. A bit like Snickers. Their other flavors are 3 points. (Unfortunately I'm not wild about any of their other flavors).
by (480 points)
@macao @mcneal Smith no I haven’t! Where do you get those?
by (6.7k points)
@pansypant regular customer. No sweets just Built Bars

Can’t use them as a habit, I gain but we’re all different. I do mis calculate from time to time but we’re talking 1/2 points

I’ve always used some of them. I’m at goal and maintenance now and use every single point available to me including some of my fit points.
by (8.8k points)
And YES - sorry peeps - even at goal I still track. It's a lifestyle change. Been with WW for over 10 years. When I stopped tracking I gained back 17 pounds over a year - and it was HARD to lose that again.

I’ve heard it’s all about when you use them. If you do use them it should be on like day 3 and 4 of your weekly weigh in cycle

I always eat my weeklies. It can set you up better for the maintenance phase where your body is used to more calories.

@gunk5637 Robinson Martin that’s what our WW leader has said to us.

Just remember your goal isn’t just to lose weight fast, you need to learn how to live with this new lifestyle to get to a Lifetime and maintain! You will still need to track your points even in maintenance or you’ll gain it back! Believe me I’m a Lifetime member who gained weight back when I stopped tracking. So the weeklies are meant to be used for special dinners, events or if you need a few daily like I use them for! This allows you to feel like you’re really living life and not a diet with huge restrictions! Plus the zero point foods are not balanced for you to just eat those and not your daily points! You need nutrients from regular foods to be healthy! Again this is not a diet! You will succeed and maintain if you learn this! Hope this helped!
