I have been “stalking”  this group for a week or so for some inspo. I just recently had my 2 year liver and kidney transplant anniversary. I blame all my medications but ever since my transplant, let me tell you, I am a total junk food junkie! I have gained over 30 lbs.  There is too much protein in the Keto diet for my kidney. I am seriously considering WW and think it would better suit me because I love LOVE fruit! However, never had done diets before, I feel like I would be completely lost. How do I know what I can eat? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I recently joined too ( 1 1/2 weeks in) I could never stick to diets & I'm pleasantly surprised how easy to follow WW is! It goes by points. Scan what you want to eat to see how many points it is. You get a certain amount of points per day & extra weekly points. There's also a HUGE list of 0 point foods!

@africander22 What about foods I home cook? Do I have to enter each ingredient?
by (7.4k points)
@ehf56528 depends on what you're using. I enter the ingredients or scan the package it came out of before I use it. It's just a barcode scanner so most things you buy will scan. & veggies are mostly 0 points.

Once you've found the item on the app, you adjust the portion/ amount of it you're using

There's also a lot of recipes that others have already entered. You can look up what you're making to see if it's in there & bam there's the points

@africander22 Thank you bunches!

@ehf56528 no problem! I was a total sceptic. After 1 week weigh in I was down 6. 9 lbs. so I'm gonna keep trying

The app is wonderful at making it easy to understand. You can eat anything in moderation. Scan barcodes to know the exact number of points each item cost or look up the item. On the most common plan, fruits, veggies and chicken breast are free. You’ll love it.

@ehf56528 I do unless the recipe I’m using tells the total calories, fat, etc. Then I can put that in there and it will tell me. It’s not as hard as it sounds. They have a “create a recipe” spot. I enter the ingredients and servings and it tells me the points. Then it’s saved so I don’t have to do it again.

I don’t enter the free items so that cuts down a lot of tracking.

It’s a life style!

@fenestella I don’t exactly understand. It is also a diet, correct?
by (1.7k points)
@fenestella I think it’s more about portion control and making better decisions! I don’t really consider it a diet because it’s how I should’ve been eating all along but I was not good with portions and ate well past being full
by (10.4k points)
@ehf56528 it’s just learning to eat healthier and portion control. So yes it’s a diet but when you reach your goal you still stick with it.

I think it would be a good fit. But as always consult your Dr.
