Started weight watchers yesterday.  Back story: I started Atkins 2 years ago.Started weight watchers yesterday. Back story: I started Atkins 2 years ago. I lost 40 lbs that first year and a half, but then I got so burnt out on pork skins, almond flour, and cheese that I couldn't stay on it anymore. I've gained back 15 lbs, and now I'm feeling defeated, and a little overwhelmed. Current story: I'm finding it difficult to switch my mindset from counting carbs to watching points. Is there anyone that has switched like me who has some advice to get me going? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I did Atkins for awhile hard to maintain eating like that - WW Allows you to eat anything within reason & flexible points -daily & weekly

I think that if you give it a few weeks you will find it works and you feel much better than you did on low carb. I yo-yo’d so much on low carb because it is not sustainable. I feel like to get the most of this program it requires you to cut the carbohydrates that can be harmful like white rice, and encourages you to eat whole grain and fruit which are really good for you. I think you’ll get the hang of it after a few weeks and be much happier. Just anecdotal, I have lost 61 pounds on WW and am still losing, which is more than I have ever been able to say about low carb.

Hey! I joined ww Monday with my mom. I did south beach and was successful too but I like fruit, I like bread, I like cheese- and choices. I lost close to 80lbs 8 years ago but of course have regained pretty much all of it and then lost and then gained and now I’m determined. I scan everything. This morning I still ate the two pieces of white bread I had. because I didn’t plan the shop based on rejoining. didn’t know I would take the plunge and sign up until Monday so this week we are eating within our current options. On ww last year I was on 6 months and lost 30lbs, thought I had a handle on it so got off. and well here I am. A yo yo with weight my whole life, I’m now on the green plan and looking forward to the shift and flexibility. Good luck we’re all in it together!

@coincidence thanks, and good luck to you too. I understand the yo yo effect. I'm hoping this will be something easier to stick with.

@coincidence now its blue, plan, green, ?

@courtenay yes there’s blue, green and purple. Apparently the blue is most flexible and forgiving with point values. At least that’s what I’ve noticed with helping my mom track. I’m on green and then there’s purple. I think purple is maintenance. Not entirely sure but there’s a breakdown of each plan and they suggest being on whatever one you were put “on” based on your assessment for at least 2 weeks before switching ‍♀️ so far I’m doing ok. I have a lot to lose so even on green I have quite a few options. my mom has almost half the points on blue but different “free foods” ex. I pay for chicken 2 points 3oz but it’s free on blue. 0 points

It’s just owning what you put in your mouth! It’s a gradual loss that stays off! There are ways to do it without counting ! As you know there are foods with zero points also ! The app helps with convenience for sure, as u can scan just about anything!

I switched from keto to WW for the very same reason. Just give your brain a few weeks to acclimate and it becomes 2nd nature. I find it so much easier and healthier for my body. I have lost 29 pounds since the end of February so I know the program works! Good luck!

I asked my PCP to refer me to a nutritionist. The nutritionist was very practical. She gave me an eating plan that I could stick to - forever! Pick something that you can see yourself maintaining for a lifetime.

You can do it. Don’t let it get you down. Since Atkins has reached its limit for you, have you considered cutting back on the food you’re eating now? Also, a smaller plate helps. The regular dinner plates hold more food. I hope this helps you out a little bit. When you’re feeling down about your weight or anything else for that matter try listening to Helen Reddy’s “I am Woman”. Remember you are strong and you can do it!

My daughter and I actually just switched from Keto to WW yesterday. Well, I got the app and paid for myself and am reading up on it, buying groceries this weekend, having a splurge day Sunday, and starting WW on Monday. I’ve lost 11 pounds and she’s lost 2 in 11 days but keto is killing us both. We can just barely stomach eggs and cheese anymore. I’m sure hoping WW is a lifesaver for us! Good luck to you!
