I’m trying to decide if I should take the leap and join. I’ve been tracking calories and just wonder if anyone can tell me what makes WW different from that? I get it’s not a diet and it’s a lifestyle, which I’m totally looking for, but what makes it more successful than just counting calories?

So me and my daughter started a weight loss journey at the same time. I started WW, she decided to use fitbit and track calories. She was always hungry with not much room for calorie reduction and her weight loss hit a plateau. I talked her into trying WW. Now shes always got something to eat if shes hungry and losing weight again. The difference I have seen in our life is that WW helps you learn how to eat the correct foods and allows for everything but helps you learn how to budget for everything. It's the correct kinds and amounts of foods you need. I've lost 77lbs so far. Good luck in whatever you choose.

It’s not just about calories. It’s the type of calories. WW is a science based plan. It’s also about changing your mindset on food and activity

I joined on March 3rd. I love WW and not having to count calories. I'm definitely eating healthier and exercising daily. I tried counting calories but it didn't work for me. I track everything on WW. I have never missed a day. I've lost 18 lbs

The app is great. Scan barcodes on products for points and track through the app. Tons of support, recipe ideas and whole health and wellness support.

If you decide to count calories I would track . Calories. Carbs. Fat. Sugar too. I made a little graph on paper no fancy app and kept track of those 4 things. It worked for me. Tracking some how is a big factor. Joining thou . the app is amazing. The scanner is perfect at the grocery store boom you know the point value of a food. There is a restaurant part you can put in like Dairy Queen chicken tenders it gives you point value. The app was a big eye opener for me. There are support post. recipes. etc. You could try joining to get the app for 2 weeks see how you like it. you can always cancel

Go for itrackbites. com for free. Save yourself money and test run the ideas of following a points plan. It's pretty much like being on the green plan on WW. No, it doesn't have meetings etc, but ask yourself if you really need it to be like that to lose. Meetings are suspended for the time being. The "gifts" they give you as rewards on WW are not something I find motivating at all.

Thank you all so much! I did Noom for the 2 week trial and it breaks down what types of foods you are eating. That was VERY eye opening for me. I will try out the itrackbites for a couple weeks before I commit! You were all super helpful!

The flexibility. Think of a pie chart that is the amount of food you can have in a day. You can slice it up as many ways as you want. That is WW to me. If I want something, it gives me the ability to know how to adjust the rest of my food for the day or days to balance it out. It also provides extra points so if I wanted to go out and eat pizza, I still know how to make it work.

You eat real food not diet food so you learn how to eat not just what to eat

The app is totally worth the cost of membership IMO. restaurant foods, recipes, recipe builder for your own recipes, tracking water intake, etc. etc.

The support, ideas and comraderie. Also they are the only weight loss company that supports you after you hit goal. I know I need the structure. You can truly eat anything. I track everything, and measure my portions. I vary my points and sometimes I am in negative points, but I know I can just reset

Simplicity! WW gives you a daily allowance and weekly allowance. As long as you stay within your points you should see results.

Recipes and smart points account for calories, sugar, protein and fat without having to track them all separately

I have to agree it’s really not about the calories it’s about making healthy eating choices. I am on purple joined Jan 20 I’m down almost 30 pounds. I don’t feel hungry and I walk a couple miles everyday but I’m not doing much more than that for exercise. I am simply not eating junk or highly processed foods. There are a ton of healthy really good tasting recipes and options out there. You also need to be all in and live it not do it cause you want immediate weight loss.

I think some people just need the accountability and encouragement that the meetings and weigh ins bring. I tried dieting many times and never stuck to it. Knowing that I am going to get weighed makes me stick to it.

I hit a plateau after tracking on free site for over 100lbs. I thought to myself WW has been up to date for so many years upgrading points so there must be a good formula behind it. Week one on blue -4. 5lbs. Week 2 -2lbs. I ate all my weeklies on moderate treats and wine on wknds and some fit points the other 5 days for healthy low carb and goodfats. So thats my WHY i plan on losing my 51. 5 lbs left to goal with WW.
