HELP!  I’ve gained almost 10 pounds since the beginning of this quarantine thing.HELP! I’ve gained almost 10 pounds since the beginning of this quarantine thing. I just can’t stop eating! I have fallen back into the food trap. fast food, sugary junk. I try to do good and I sabotage myself everyday! The virtual meetings aren’t giving me the accountability that I need. Tips for getting back “on the wagon”?

Who brings those sugary foods into your space? Make wise choices at the grocery. that means saying no to those foo8abd yes to veggies and fruits, lean protein, low fat dairy, whole grains. Drink plenty of water and move more when you can. Make Memorial Day weekend both your start to summer and your start to your healthier lifestyle!

Our leader suggested extra virtual meeting when someone in our regular group said they fall off after a day or two. They run almost everyday somewhere. The only way I stopped and got a grip was starting to food prep again. Wanted something, tried to wait 5 min by distracting myself to see. Also, I realized some of the snacks I bought my kids did not want. I thought they wanted them (or me subconsciously). I have lost 7 of my 10 quarantine pounds. started 2 weekend ago. I also was fed up with myself and desperate.

Use the buddy system. Have a WW friend call you on a regular basis and go over thoroughly what you weigh and why. This is a form of accountability

Give up Carbs! You can't help but lose weight if you keep carbs under 20 and eat good fats.

It’s a stressful situation. It’s hard as a lot of things that nurture us we can’t do right now. Food is easy. I do splurge about once a week, then feel bad physically and emotionally which is a good deterrent. Most of the time I want to use this time to better myself.

I did the same. Then I asked myself what I really wanted. And just did one day on program. And now I am hooked. Feel so much better. Took back the control.
by (1.3k points)
I took back control this week! I have tracked everyday - on phone and in my journal. I am so tired of being disappointed in my self. This tracking and drinking water has helped me to get my resolve back - at least for today. Good luck to all. We can do this!
by (2k points)
@lau9 yesssss girl! That's it a little effort and mind over matter. We have more control than we give ourselves credit for.

Me too why are we doing this to ourselves hate my self every day
by (2k points)
@argybargy5 no! Dont hate yourself. just know you take it back one healthy choice at a time. chart. drink water. a little exercise. then you are back on top! You get the mindset.

by (8.9k points)
It's a crappy feeling to be in that mindset again. Guess what, so what. SO NOW, remember when you started and how much you wanted to stop doing what you had done to get to that weight and you wondered if WW was the answer and it was? You have the tools. Just START. Start tracking. I feel that tracking is the key. Seeing it in writing is the key. You know you can do it, so do it!

I could have written this post. SAME! And I’m going to the beach in less than a month! Trying to walk more around my neighborhood but we’ve had some cold and rain the last couple of weeks. The food is the problem. Kids won’t eat my WW food and I don’t have time to cook individual meals for all of us. That’s a big issue also
by (620 points)
@nutwood674 I can relate! Get the kids helping with cooking! I was a picky eater and was told to make my own peanut butter sandwich if I won’t eat dinner. Plan and post on fridge your meals and snacks. Good luck!

I feel you I’ve gained back 20 lbs in the past 3 months and my clothes are getting tight and I’ve had enough, I took my favourite pair of jeans and hung them on the wall as a daily reminder that I promised myself when I was at goal i wasn’t gonna buy bigger sizes again. Those are skin tight jeans I can’t even get them over my butt now , but I’ve started over this week walking biking portion control I know what I have to do and I know what I want and it’s fit comfortably into my clothes cuz I’m not going a size up again.

You need to dig deep. ask your self if all the yummy snacks are giving you more pleasure then being thinner? if the answer is yes Im enjoying this freedom of eating then youll know why its happening, , , if you really want to get back on track. start doing it. you can do it! get out and walk, read a book, keep busy. plan your meals for day 1 and stick to the plan. you are in charge! this is hard. keep talking positive self talk, you can do this!

Someone needs to stand in front of the mirror and have a chat with herself. Take ownership, the quarantine is not the reason you turned to food, find the inner reason you needed comfort and resulted to the old ways, it will be a good start to knowning triggers and deal with them.

by (10.5k points)
@tuck238 Kobs-Legere what is the blue dot challenge
by (880 points)
@thacker if you stay within 10 points below or 5 points above your daily total, the blue dot on the day is white with a border rather than solid blue on the food app

MAKE A PLAN! I started a 30 exercise challenge the day the life as I was living it shut down. I had my food plan set. That's it! Make a plan, vision it happening. I started a little cookbook, as well. I also pray & meditate. Envision what will happen. I also watch motivational Ted talks on You Tube. Search for what you want. I also have changed my whole evening routine! Big deal No more after dinner eating! Busy yourself w a PLAN!

It’s the unstructured time. It’s driving a lot of us crazy. Can you do 1 healthy meal? And track it? Then another? You don’t have to lose the entire 10 lbs overnight. Just one day, one meal at a time. Be gentle with yourself. Now is not the time to beat yourself up. These are crazy times. Keep sharing - here & at meetings. You are not alone! We’ve all been there & we’re all here for each other.
by (5.7k points)
@devoice Wayne I have also gained about 10 pounds. I’ve rededicated myself as I’ve heard “new fat comes off quicker than old fat” and I don’t want my new fat to get old!
by (20.6k points)
@ghats From my personal experience, that is true! Don’t let that fat get old! Best of luck on your journey. And remember, it’s just one day/meal at a time.

Last year I lost 60 pounds and reached my personal goal. This pandemic and being at home has been HARD! I have gained about 5 pounds and am working to get it back off. We live in MI and the weather has been not so good so getting outdoors has been a challenge. I won't give up, I am worth the effort! We are all in this together!

by (3.3k points)
You have to set your mind to do it . If you want it badly you can so it. Yeah we all have a day where we eat something we shouldn't have, but don't let that sabotage what your goal is. get rid of the bad food in your house. you wont eat it if it's not there. And replace if with healthy food . plan your menu for the week.

I've actually lost 10 lbs. I eat all the time it seems but now I don't eat as much and I've been using WW and other healthier recipes and I exercise here and there (I have a whole gym in my garage) and I still lost, so don't give up--just cut back on amounts you eat. I even have a handful of fritos corn chips daily and at my docs last week he was surprised that I lost, when he said everyone else seems to be gaining. Just keep going the best you can, that's all anyone can really do. Good luck.

Put soap and water on all the sugary stuff! Start over, new day. I know I cannot have things in my house as they start to yell. I'm in here, come get me, you know you love me, etc.! lol! Don't bring that stuff home, or get a safe to put the dangerous stuff in and give someone else the combination!
by (10.5k points)
@unbar396 yes. As I took it out of the garbage, the next day as they were all individually wrapped , and my sugar addiction grabbed hold tight. It is so sick of me to do that. Why did I buy it? Ugh. Disappointed in myself but today I start fresh again.

I gained 12 #’s in the first two weeks of the pandemic. The thing that helped me to get back on track was the virtual meeting WW had on “Routine”. It was my aha moment when I realized that I had gotten out of my daily routine of going to the gym to exercise 2 hrs. Since they were closed I just stopped exercising. So I started getting up at 5:00 in the morning to walk outside for about an hour and fifty minutes or until I got my 10, 000 steps in for the day. I’ve taken off 10 of those ugly #’s and hope to get the rest off soon. You can do this!

You are accountable only to yourself. The only person you are fooling by telling yourself it is ok to eat that stuff is you. Remember your Why! Why did you start this journey? Find a picture of yourself at your heaviest and tape it to the fridge. Another on the pantry door. Whatever it takes to remember your Why.
