Anyone have any advice on how to get started and be motivated? I’m not and I feel guilty because I eat crap all the time.

I lost 70 lbs setting 5 lb goals. Every time I lost 5, I set a new 5 lb goal. It didn’t seem as intimidating that way. And you need to have a reason to lose the weight that is more powerful than your urge to splurge.

Honestly. I dieted over and over and over throughout years. It didn’t work and i didn’t stick to it until i WANTED it. If you don’t want it, it won’t work.

@farley exactly my choices get tested constantly during the day on what to eat and what not to eat but 6 weeks ago I decided that's it I'm done with yoyo diets and so far I've done great. I haven't lost that much yet but I have less stomach issues, I feel so much better and I can see the difference in my body and my clothes.

Think about what you want - then go for it because you are worth it

Set a small goal of 5 lbs. Once you complete that goal, you will build confidence and set a more challenging goal of , say. 1 week no cheating. Keep setting goals until you have lost the weight you want to achieve. I would really recommend the group meetings. I hope mine are going to start again soon. It gives you accountability.

It is a mindset. If you aren’t ready you won’t be successful. Start at day 1 and build your foundation. Starting is the hardest part.

You have to want it. Your 'why' has to be your motivation to start, then you develop the healthy habits and routines that carry you along

The motivation has to happen before the start. If you are truly motivated to make hard and necessary changes, you’ll struggle and feel like 1) the program doesn’t work and 2) you’re a failure. Both false. as long as your motivation comes first. So come up with a very strong Why. Get to a place where you’re sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. Pictures of myself always motivate me

Preplanning Groceries and meals. Treats that work . Halo ice cream, Veggie straws. Whatever fits into your daily points. Avoid too much salt . Drink lots of water. Experiment with recipes and different foods. Treat it like a marathon . not a sprint. Goid luck you can do it

@reviel I truly understand what you are saying. I am struggling. Earlier today I decided I must have an eating disorder because I stay on track for 1 or 2 days then I eat everything in sight. But all of the comments to your post make me think . I have got to get it in my head. I want to do this for me so that I will feel better, be more active for my grandchildren and deep down we all want to look better. We can do this. Reading your post today and all the comments has helped me. The crying I did earlier didn't help anything. I have got to take action and work the plan. Plan meals, track meals, stay with my point range. It is going to take work but I will do it.

Measure your servings and track each bite, lick and taste. Don’t buy foods/ snacks that are too tempting for you. Don’t even look at those foods in the grocery store! Skip sugar for a few days and the desire for sugar goes away. Just keep working the tools and motivation will increase! Also, I weigh frequently because it helps me stay motivated.

If you are not mentally in the game it will be very difficult for you. And do not look at big losses do not aim for 80 lb for this week and next aim for 5 lb and be happy.

Boy, we all go through that! For me, I had to make a plan before I started. What would I eat ( planned 2 weeks of menue) what would I do to replace the times when I want to binge. things like that. This was big, would I committ to the tune of $45 a month? I made sure cause I didn't want to give up. I was sooo ready!
