Silly question  Do I weigh my meat after it's cooked or before ? Specifically, I made ground turkey. I weighed it before but after it was cooked it weighed less. There app didn't show me a "cooked" or "uncooked" option.

Option for raw or cooked

@fulton if you scanned the ground turkey I bet is for raw since that is what is in the package. At least that's how I think about it.

You weigh the meat after cooking if talking about solid meets like chicken beef or pork because weight is lost due to moisture content changing so I always weigh once cooking is complete. Now that you brought up the point even weighing ground meat after browning makes sense for it definitely looses water content during cooking. I never thought about it when making something like Chili but will definitely weigh it next time to see the difference. Just checked with a coach, apparently there are weight measurements listed for ground meets cooked or raw. She did mention that 4 ounces ground beef raw becomes 3 ounces cooked, My thought use raw weight if given when cooking with ground meats if available but cooked weight for individual portioned meets ie beef or pork.

In the point book I purchased at a workshop it has cooked and uncooked weights and points for all meats, I suggest investing in one and if you don't have the scale, get one.

I believe that it's raw meat, but WW usually has both. Again it's weigh before cooked. Maybe, RACHEL RAY WOULD KNOW, you could write her a letter. Good luck. ✝️

There isn’t too much of a difference so whichever is easier for you.
