How long do batteries really last? I have had mine for almost 4 yrs now. I had one battery and camera plugged in to charge. I logged in and that camera doesn't even show it's plugged in. I removed the battery, put it back in, I even changed out the charging cord, same thing. I guess the battery is dead and can't be recharged?

I wonder what caused mine not to charge? I just ordered a new battery, couldn't really afford to, but I can't afford to not have them up.

@wollongong make sure it’s the cable it came with. the cams are picky on their cable even with cables with same ports won’t work.

@valdes6990 I am using the cable that came with it. Thanks

@ockeghem . Thinking about upgrading to the pro2. In your opinion how’s the rechargeable battery working out? Do you find yourself charging it frequently? Thanks.

Works better than I could imagine.

How long did you leave it charging for? Are the terminals clean too

Over night, still nothing, no sign that it is charging

@wollongong terminals are clean on the batter and come connectors in the camera

Which camera? If you remove the battery completely, it should still function when plugged in an show a power icon. Maybe your charger or charging cable or charging port is the issue

Arlo Pro. Thanks I will try that.

@terrie Thanksng I took the battery out, kept it plugged in and I still get "time to recharge your battery'; I can't even see what the camera is seeing. I used a spare cable and charger, still same message.

Sounds like your charging port or the ribbon cable inside the camera might be damaged then

Can you take the battery from one of your other cameras and put it in this camera to check the camera itself is still working?

And try and charge this camera's battery in another camera that does charge?

@terrie Thanksng I will give that a try. I have to leave the camera out or my neighbor will damage my property. I will try this when it gets dark and I can change it out. Thank you so much.
