Question

Thinking of painting the sleepers . ? An fence . I got get flowers for flower beds now the sleepers are in place. Any ideas on covering up the black poles the are both sides of my front door . ? I actually hate them .

Paint the poles or a decent sized pot at the bottom of each with a climber of some sort

You could buy some trailing artificial ivy or similar and wind it round the black poles

I'm a mum of 5 children an all 5 on the spectrum . I just got put on government thing . I'm a key worker in a nursery next to the hospital . So now I got 4 weeks to get my house an gardens decent lol I spent 7 hours out front pulling weeds an clearing an cleaning it up . It looks half decent now . So now I wanna do it up .

Maybe get some decking and box them in. Then hang flower baskets off each one.

@myer8539 yeah, then paint the same colour as your sleepers. Can picture what id do but hard to explain. Will definitely modernize it though.

I would paint the poles maybe white to match door colour maybe grow some climbers in pots up them.

Trellis either side with deep planter either side. Pain the trellis and poles and overhang all the same colour and put in some flowers that cam be changed each season. Climbers might encroach on your door.

Paint them black and then wrap solar fairy lights from top to bottom

You can just pInt the poles with an exterior gloss or satin. The sleepers I would just stain paint isnt great for wood as its constantly damp so will just peel. Question though have you protected your fence or is the soil touching it? Have you put sleepers in front of your fence to hold the soil? Xx

@direction theres plastic sheeting between sleepers an fencing. the fence was treated 4 years back so needs doing again .
