I’ve filled plastic cups with sunflower seeds and the egg container with sweet peas, should I have put a hole in the bottom of the cups and will the sweet peas grow in that container?

Lots of people use the toilet roll tube to plant sweet peas, I didn't have enough so planted them in a big deep plastic box, they're coming on a treat

@dragonfly4965 toilet rolls tubes are brilliant for sweet peas as they can establish really long roots then plant them straight out.

@same5612 I know, it sounds so much easier to do it with them, i just didnt have enough for the amount i was planting, will definitely be saving them up in time for next years batch lol

You will need drainage holes in the cups, pierce them with a sharp pencil or similar. You can start sweet peas off in the egg box lid but they will need to be potted on fairly soon. As soon as you see the roots starting to protrude from the bottom move them on into something bigger/deeper or outside if warm enough.

This is my selection from a couple of weeks ago, all moved up in size now but I don't have a new photo on my phone!
