I have a low fence on one side of my garden. I don't mind it and can't really afford to take out and replace that full side. Do you have any suggestions on what can do to make it a little more private. The only issue is beside it, is a private road and everyone can see in the garden. Which is fine, but everyone stops to have a chat over the fence and at times you just want some peace. But I want it to look nice. Is that even possible? Fence is about 3. 5ft high.

Put some plants in either tubs that grow about 5 ft or plant them in the ground or you can plant clumping bamboo in pots these won't invade your garden just grow bushy or put trellis up attach to fence and grow climbing plants honeysuckle or clematis

A post and a privacy curtain by your seating area should be inexpensive

What about a few deep planters of bamboo? Would look lovely and add privacy. Sometimes you can get them free or cheap on gumtree as they grow like mad if planted into the ground x

You can do fence planters with plug plants - I did this in previous rental property - lobelia, trailing petunias, trailing bacopa, impatience etc
