So we tackled the ivy on the horrendous wall and covered it  now we have removed the grass/moss as we want to lay turf. So. is turf ok on turned over soil or do we need to had some top soil for nutrients? Lockdown has ALOT to answer for

Loam is very good for new turf, if you decide to lay on what you have it needs to be stone free

Just laid mine. Will lay on this fine. Plenty water

I laid turf on turned over soil I applied a fertiliser while laying the turf it’s been down a couple of months and is doing well

I laid mine on rotovated soil and mines worked plenty of water should be fine

Topsoil is just soil that is has been screened so it doesn't contain loads of stones etc and is finer it doesn't have nay extra goodness compared to the soil you have. You can need to make sure it is pretty stone free and level.
