It's unlucky to have lilac in the house

@tenrec my mum always said that

@tenrec why?
by (740 points)
It was used to get rid of the smell of dead bodies years ago so it has always said to be unlucky if bought in the house if you are well

Old wives tales. Lilac is beautiful

My dad always used to bring it home to my mum, when it came into bloom, every single year ❤ every time I see it now it reminds me of them

Superstition only works if you believe in it. law of attraction says dont attract negativity. Attract positivity and enjoy the beautiful flowers.

Never heard of that one, I suppose every area has its superstitions

@taiwan10 Me neither. May blossom is supposed to be unlucky. but there again if you look in the book of superstitions you would be afraid to breathe.

I've walked under numerous ladders, broken mirrors over the years, had lilac in my home. I've never had much bad luck! Old wives tales from many many years ago - utter rubbish. Enjoy, they're beautiful x
