I had my garden landscaped last year I noticed recently that part of the decking has dropped with a slope. I asked my landscaper who came over and told me that warm weather could have caused that. Is it possible for the weather to cause such a drop in decking or could it be something to do with foundation?

Bad frame that. The weather makes the board swell that's why you leave a slight gap.

@spancel wrong contract when hot swell in the wet

Definitely poor workmanship. My husband is a landscaper and does this for a living. This should never happen.

Base is poor! Warm weather will give you bigger gaps that’s about it.

@embezzle9980 no one wants a big gap in summer ever

Wood does warp in weather changes but groundwork’s shouldn’t. Put a base on bad ground without a good weight bearing sub-base and you might as well start from scratch. Poor work = poor long term

Poor work for sure!

Did you ask for the board upstand as a skirt on the fence? If not that's another sign of lazy work as I would always cut and notch a length in along the fence and joist to do so also
by (350 points)
@joni917 tbh I didn’t ask for anything as I am not a landscaper so I assumed her did the right thing

Not enough support in framework. I've just done my own with 4x2 and supported every bit of it the best I can. It might be worth taking up 2 or 3 rows to see exactly what is going on.
