Hiya, we have a phone box in our garden that I would like to try and restore. Looks like some of the glass has been replaced (not by us so 20+ years previous! ). Any tips on getting the rest back to looking nice? I'm not sure soap and water is going to cut it . Planning to also scrape and repaint. Thanks!

Wire brush it, might take a while but will get rid of the rust and flakes if you don’t want to sand blast it

Wire brush and a lot of elbow grease.

I’d start with that and then probably move onto an angle grinder with flap disks but it’s quite aggressive

I don’t know if you could access this service but as a community we recently adopted a telephone kiosk in our area and BT sent us a paint kit for free. Perhaps contact them and explain that you have a kiosk but it needs restoring.

Id love to do something like this. Remove all the glass. I personally wouldn't sandblast as you could damage it more. I'd use a wire brush attachment on the drill. Take back to bare metal. Then you have a blank canvas to work with to repair and restore
