You will only grow carrot tops, you can't grow a new carrot from a carrot if that makes sense. But you can grow potatoes, you just need to wait until they sprout and plant them in deep soil (use a bucket or bin ideally) :)

@fractionate0 you get seeds from them xxx

@budge from the carrot tops? They've never lasted long enough in my house to produce seeds as you can eat carrot tops too. I was just making sure she wasn't planning on planting them for carrots :)

@fractionate0 you can plant them outside once they start to sprout. xxx Yeah, I get what you’re saying. a lot of people expect carrots and it doesn’t work like that. once the lacy flowers turn brown you collect seeds from it xxx

@budge that's cool I didn't know that thanks! :)

You’ll only grow the tops. If you want to grow from scraps though spring onions and lettuce works well.

Lady-@dolph79678 Jayne Thewlis the leeks are a little more complicated and take longer to do. it’ll take me ages to explain. There is a link on YouTube that will talk too through it. Thankspe in ‘glowing a leek from a leek’ hope that helps xxx

You're not growing any carrots from that, but the greens will grow and are also edible. Potatoes will grow more potatoes.
