Wow  someone wanting daisies and dandelions in their lawn! So refreshing  think it's the first time I've ever seen this  just keep an eye out for dandelions on your daily walk/exercise and grab one when it goes to seed. Scatter the seed over your lawn. Not sure about daisies though.

@milissa it first food for the bees, as they come out in the spring. New studies are finding that the yellow draws them to it, and helps them start of the year strong and healthy. Without bees the world is worse off

@graveyard yes  I have a nice crop of dandelions on my allotment  and in my front garden.

@graveyard agree yes, and. without bees, our pollinators we would lose valuable crops

Stop using fertilizer that kills them.
by (310 points)
@graveyard and don't cut the grass too often.
by (520 points)
@intorsion yes correct
by (520 points)
I stopped fertilizing a area so they will grow again. So bees have food in spring. This year i will not put down and that will kill them

We moved in 18 months again and have only ever cut it but thank you
by (520 points)

Can't you pick dandelions isn't that what happens when you blow them they disperse seeds. Wouldn't bother buying them
by (270 points)
@ladder that’s what I did when the turn into fairies I just blew them into my plant pots to grow for my rabbits and tortoise, xx

Try your hardest to stop them, regularly cut your grass, and they soon turn up.

I found some daisies on waste land and naughtily took a tiny bit with root. Planted in my lawn. 3 years down the line i had a lawn full of lovely daisies. I am not telling you to do this. Its illegal
by (300 points)
@randirandie4 illegal?! Really ? Lol
by (1.6k points)
It is if you take anything off land that's not yours also if you take for example flowers from the road side lol
by (5.3k points)
@racoon true people take cuttings left right and centre but it is against the law. Like planting non indigenous plants in woods etc because it messes with the eco system.
by (1.5k points)
Yep. Not allowed to dig up wildflowers/plants in this country i believe

This is my prized patch of daises. I went to my local woodland walk and dug up a single daisy with its roots. Then I transplanted it in my lawn. Two years later and I have a little patch that is the pride of my garden.

If you want to be sure of daisies it's probably best to buy seeds (Yes you can do that ) cut your lawn , take a rake to it in patches and scratch hard so some of the grass comes away and you have some bare patches , scatter the seed and water . As another comment said , don't feed your lawn if you want wild flowers , I have lots of daisies , clover and dandelions in my lawn , it's never been fed and I always leave a few patches to grow while i'm mowing .

Someone was asking how to stop this problem yesterday!  Personally, I think they look lovely. Find some in someone else’s garden and blow the seeds over yours!

I'm not sure about encouraging dandelions however your choice! If you leave it & reduce the number of times you mow the lawn this should see clover & daisies flowering & encouraging bees

Hi. I think the daisies and dandelions will naturally grow in your lawn over a period of time. I, m all for a natural lawn( none of this fake grass in a roll). Before each cut of the lawn, I will see green grass with lots of daisies, dandelions, buttercup an clover all mixed into the grass naturally. Luv it.

Just for reference for those interested. Far better options that are greater food sources for bees.
